great eagle = 50 (I don't know if they allow flyers at 500pts.)

5x glade riders w/ musician = 129 (3x5 glade riders)

total = 1004 (I guess I could lose the musician to get under 1000)

Hmmm 4 characters and 50 calvary in 3k. I don't think I would stand a chance, but hopefully it would be fun.

I'm not really sure how well pure Cav for Wood Elves would work. Your Glade Riders can't shoot or charge as well as my Dark Riders can and cost two points more each (compared to Darks with Crossbows).

I really like Wild Riders, but they are two points more than Glade Riders and have no shooting at all and command is very, very expensive. Of course, with an 18" range and S5 Fear Causers on the charge, who cares? Just avoid pincushion fire, that 5+ ward save is nice but won't survive a wall of dice.

Assuming your store is playing by the standard Warbands rules at 500, you can have one flyer unit.

Yeah, I know they are soft, it would be nice if the riders could still keep their glade guard long bows at least. I am just all about speed at the moment. If I was going to make a list to be more competitive, I would have my way watchers and war dancers in there too. I guess I would even have to put some dryads in there. Oh yeah, lots of glade guard, too.


I am going to work on my DE list after this one to go from 500 to 3k. And that one will be all about speed too. Oops... and monsters

I very much like the theme to this army. It would also be fun, because you could try out the all-cav at lower point levels first (where it will probably work best, imho) and if you don't like it, you could always tweak things later on.

You don't need to include a general of some kind at 500 points?

In most warbands leagues, so I've heard, you can use a champion as your general. I think that it may only be good upto a certain amount of points, though. I am going to have to track down the warbands rules again.

Warband rules go to 500pts. Of course you can apply them to any size game, but standard ruleset only goes to 500 and you can delegate a unit's champion as your Commander. Of course, you can only get command options when your unit is of standard minimum size.
