I know a lot of guard players may say that what I am about to list is a bad choice, however, I have played it, and either always forced a draw, made the opponent forfeit by turn 3, or tabled by turn 4. So, please read and tell me what you think
HQ: 165
CCS w/ Creed, LC, Vox (165)
Troops: 485
[3x] Veterans w/ LC, Vox (95) [285]
[2x] Veterans w/ 3x Meltas (100) [200]
Fast Attack: 220
[2x] Vendetta (110) [220]
Heavy Support: 1635
[3x] LR Battletanks (150) [450]
[3x] LR Demolishers (165) [495]
[3x] LR Executioners w/ PC spons (230) [690]
Total: 2505
(if needed, I may switch out LC's for mortars... that could be very funny against low leadership, non-fearless armies.)
Demolishers will be given scout, via Creed, and will be both AT and AI. Melta vets will be inside the Vendettas; both will be AT, and charge for objectives. CCS and LC vets will remain static for AT and transport popping. LRBT's will remain static in a corner that provides good sight for some AT and mostly AI. Executioners will slaughter troops that are in the open as pure AI.
PS: I love tanks. <3 Haha

1) Vendettas cost 130 a piece.
2)Your list looks great for killing things, but no so great for taking objectives. In any seize ground game your vendettas are going to be priority #1, and when they die you're going to be left footslogging.

The squad is small and will be an easy target to just blow away. I would add camo to the unit and the astropath to assist in what side the big guns come in on. Your going to be hard pressed to find the points as you have locked up almost all your points.
The other issue is mission and how they will effect your game. I would look at playing some of the missions from last year to get a better view of your army and how it will function.
A sister list with smoke could just eat your list alive before turn three. IC dread dropping in your back field would be game over...
Its hard to say what you might need as your list is so solid in what your taking and how they work with each other...

@BishopX; Vendettas are 110 pts.. You're thinking of Valkyries with MRP, those are 130. (Unless by some divine miracle that I have these two mixed, which I highly doubt. I cba to get my codex out of my car at the moment.)
@Tarval; I see where your coming from, and I could drop one LC Vet squad (i have plenty lc's, from the vendettas) to purchase a chimera for the ccs, and afford an astropath (i might have to cut the voxes, though) and I'm not outflanking my demolishers... that would be forfeiting a turn of fire, because I recently learned that I can get the additional D6" in the scout move which means more possibility of first turn fire.
I recently played a game using the astropath, and it worked wonders, because it held back my opponent's squad of 10 terminators till turn 5, as well as their biker squads. And rarely does anyone (that's not a vet gamer) realize how important the ccs is, so they rarely shoot at it. Until some TOG comes over and says "shoot that, trust me, it'll make it easier" lol

Nope, Vendettas are 130.

Additionally, you listed yourself that the point total you came to is 2505, therefore making this NOT a 2.5k army.
Why bother setting a point limit if you are going to go over anyways?

The master of the fleet is the one your talking about. That guy was a major hit for me as well in Ard boys. If somebody is heavy reserve it can force some major delays and the reroll for sides as well.
I would look at maybe camo for your vets. That way you can place them in cover for the three plus save.

well, if he games in a group like i do, one of 2 things would happen:
1-the opponent will make his list 5 over as well
or
2- the opponent won't care.
boy, how many times have i lost "that" game because of those damn 5 points...

No chimeras?
Anyways, interesting list, but things like Orks will ruin your day... especially if snikrot has anything to say about it :(
A few points;
-Need some transports, your troops slogging it won't cut it!
- too many points into LR's. As well, ALL your LR in each squad will have to target the same thing... thats a LOT of wasted firepower. Shooting 15 plasma cannons at one squad of termis = overkill.
- You have far too few targets, making your army very compact for this points level. So few targets means your larger things WILL be going down quicker (because theres less immediate threats)
- Without bubblewrap for the russes your going to lose them quickly. You really need probably one platoon at this points level to shield your big meaty tank line!

Sorry for the much delayed reply. But Zid, considering what you said, would you recommend a thinly stretched like platoon men? possibly conscripts, because they're cheaper, and more = more bubble wrap
And I'm currently investing in more Vendettas..
And I could also turn some of the Vets into Penal Legions. I recently played them in a small battle, and they proved very helpful.
Or should I just combine tank spam and platoon spam? My turns would take eons at a time.. but it'd provide many targets for the enemy to worry about, and bubblewrap

I don't like your use of Vets. You're relegating BS4 to a single-shot weapon when you're probably going to order them to 'Bring it Down!' anyway. I'd recommend swapping them out for some cheaper Infantry squads, which you can then combine. This saves you points in two areas: not having to pay for BS4 lasguns you aren't going to use, and reducing the number of vox-casters you need to purchase.
Vendettas are costed incorrectly.
Mix up your tank squadrons. As is stands they are all v. anti-infantry. Stick 2 x Executioners with 1 x Battle Tank and you've got an ablative vehicle to administer all those 'Weapon Destroyed' results onto.
I'll repeat what people are saying regarding mobility. If those two Vendettas go down, you're walking and thus not using the expensive LC you pruchased. Perhaps invest in some Chimeras, they not only protect your squads, but also grant precious maneuverability. The only issue being that you can't order into them....
I can see how your list would definitely administer a 'one punch knockout' on the turn that the Demolishers come in, but....I don't know, I just can't gel with it.
Also, the fact that you feel the need to defend your list in your first sentence, claiming how you draw/win/table constantly with it makes me question why you bothered to post it in the first place?

I am strongly against going points over. You can always make adjustments to the list to go under. Basically if you go 5 points over you're saying "it's ok for me to take a free melta gun" and it's not.
Drop a vox, do something.
There is no wiggle room here. If you go over you're not playing by the rules anymore. Why use any of them at that point?
