I've liked 40k for a number of years, but never took the time to play. I've been reading Dan Abnett for awhile and others, and they keep this world in my head... I've also been crawling around these forums for about 4 months...

So I am taking the plunge and building my Ork Horde.

I'll be asking lots of nub questions, so get ready!

::edit::
my interests are not only the game, but also painting and modding (especially modding).

Well welcome to Dakka! Orks are a fun army and field TONS of models. It will keep you busy just assembling them.

Good luck man.

Welcome to Dakka. I do agree that the modeling opps for Orks are a lot more fun than painting, but I'm in the process of painting up my pink skins...

I actually have a full body tattoo, but it's of an invisibility cloak, so you can't see it.

First off, there is no better army in the entire game than ORKS. So nice choice. Creating your own Ork WAAGGHH can take some time since there are often so many models, but then again, there is no better pride than GREEn PRIDe - seeing your own MASSIVE ORK WAAGGHH stampeding across the table.

And for any and every tip and trick you need, you've come to the right place.

i have to agree wholeheartedly. i've been lurking and reading for awhile and the information here has really opened my eyes to the whole game/hobby.

once i start the process of accumulating some minis and getting in some games, i'll definitely be seeking help from my Ork Brethren.
