A thread for us Dakkaites to big up any bands, singers etc we feel could do with a little extra exposure. Any genre is acceptable, and it doesn't need to be limited to musical bents. Comedians, poets etc should all be bigged up and then some!

So without further ado, I would like to reccomend my friend Annakate A girl with a beautiful voice, and a genuine talent. Singer/Songwriter/Musician she does the lot, something all too rare these days. Go and give her a listen, and prepare to fall in love with the sound of her voice.

Sure, why not? I'll big up my band, John The Dancer.

We're currently mixing our debut album, which we will be releasing for free online - as soon as it's done I'll post a link.

You can find us in all the usual places.

Oh, I'm the Vocalist/songwriter, by the way.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Yeah, I wondered why you didn't post a link - I just thought it wasn't the 'done' thing so I followed suit! Baaa!

Just a link to the Myspace at present until we get something else to host download links on. The demos are pretty rough at present, as we've held off putting anything up that we've done recently until we finish the album.

I'll check your mate out. And what's with calling everyone 'skip' all of a sudden? Is it a new thing you're trying out?

EDIT:It's not letting me link anything. Weird.

Bizarre!

And I dunno. I've always used Skip here and there, but I've been doing it more and more.

In your head, screwing with your thoughts...

Poisonwood.
I can't recommend them enough. If you listen to any sort of metal you'll probably like this band. Personally, they've become my favorite band despite being brand new, recording on inferior equipment, and only having 7 songs (and one is an instrumental/album opener). Listen to at least the 2nd and 3rd songs on the list. You can skip the 1st if you'd like, because it has no vocals; I wouldn't, though, because it does a good job of setting the mood IMO. You can also buy their CD online for $5.50; the link is in the description of the last song on the playlist.
EDIT: It Appears you can get it on iTunes too, for $7. I don't know if the 1st place still sells it. I would check, but the youtube page froze on me and I can't get it to work now...
