I was wondering about something for my SM Bike Army.

If I have a captain on a bike, can I take a Bike Squad (1 Sergeant + 2 Marines) with an Attack Bike and have that count as a troop choice?

The Captain Entry pg 132 states Space Marine Bike Squads of at least five models may be taken as Troops choices.

The SM Codex states in the Combat Squad Special Rules on page 68, that IF the unit is broken into combat squads the Attack Bike counts as two models.

A couple of people and I have discussed this and think that it should count.
Let me know what you guys think. Could I use this in a tourny?

The attack bike is one model... it only counts as two if you combat squad a full bike squad. Sergeant, 2 bikes + attack bike is four models no matter how you see it.

IF broken into combat squads, it counts as two models.
Can the 4 man squad be broken down into combat squads? No. Therefore, it DOES NOT count as two models.

In a squad of 8 bikes and one attack bike, it can count as TWO models.

Would it fly in a tourney? Probably not. You should really ask the TOs that question though, as there is not a global, far-ranging illuminati cabal that runs every tournament. There is a chance that a tourney MIGHT let you do it, but I seriously doubt it.

No, it is 4 models. You need to take 1 Seargent, 3 Marines and an Attack Bike for it to be a Legal Troops Choice.
