If you blob two or more IG squads togather, can you only buy vox casters on one of the squads for the entire blob to get the benefit?

yes, the blob becomes one squad.

May have been better to title this one "Combining IG units with Vox"...

It's an interesting question, I'll have to research it.

My gut is yes, you can buy one and give the entire newly formed unit the benefits, but I'll have to research.

yup, you can. they effectively become one unit for the remainder of the game and a unit only needs one vox. i field two 30 man blob squads composed of 3 infantry squads each. only one of those infantry squads has a vox and commissar.

Yes. Give first squad a vox, blob 1st, 2nd and 3rd squad into a single unit, and the entire single unit now benefits from the vox in the unit. One reason I like blobs. One Commissar, one vox, everyone's happy happy joy joy.

Nothing says " you Sweeping Advance" like a Stubborn Ld9 with a Re-roll 50 man meatshield.

For 280+ points I sure hope so.

What's the point of the vox? It allows re-roll for orders but I don't see any mention of it allowing a re-roll for morale checks.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

Yes, I understand the point of having a commissar. I use one in my infantry platoon. I just don't see the value of voxes. Do many people use them now? The 12" CCS and 6" PCS command radii tend to dissuade me from using voxes. Maybe if I had Creed in the army...

But by ignoring orders, you're ignoring one of the greatest perks of an IG army. The ability to make your shooting better is one never to be sniffed at. A blob unit with re-rolls to hit? that's going to kill a squad a turn pretty much.

i use a grand total of 3... one for the CCS and one for a single squad in each of my blob platoons. for 15 points, i get to reroll the two orders that will usually matter most. my ccs and blobs tend to claim my "home" objective while the rest of the army goes for the further ones.

they'll only get twinlinking against monstrous creatures and vehicles. against 90% of the other units, they'll just get 50% mOAR laSGUN!!! in blob numbers, that extra 30+ shots isn't to be sneezed at either.

Yeah, but Warboss I see that extra 50% of shots pretty much as twin-linked, as on average it gives the same amount of hits lol

I have plenty of vox figures so I'll try three of them in my next 1500 point battle.

The orders do greatly increase the usability of your standard guard. You can greater tailor a unit to kill something specific on a turn by turn basis =]
