Im haveing major problems with the forum whenever I log in. After I have logged in and ive come back to the main forums window/portal if i try to open any forum eg. nuts and bolts it brings me straight back to the main forums window!
Ive tried making a new account but the same thing happens, does anybody know how I can solve this as it is stopping me posting regularly.

This even happens on the odd time that i get to write a post, I type it all out hit submit, it saves but my post isnt posted!!

AHHH!!! Its still happening!

What Internet connection do you have? DSL, Cable, some mobile one or dial up?

Also, obvious question but I have to ask to rule it out, do you try to log in on other machines at the same time?

Do you use an RSS reader or any of the RSS feeds here?

Oh and also, if it is not too much of a pain, could you try using google chrome (download from google) and see if the problem still happens with that web browser?

This happened to me for the last 2 days I could get to the forum page then I couldn't do any thing. It would just bounce me back to the forum page

Happened to me aswell, I updated firefox to latest version.
closed firefox, opened and relogged onto dakka and was fine

This was happening to my brother earlier today.

Firefox, don't know the version.

Tried normal refresh
Ctrl+F5 (It's supposed to make a difference, I don't really see it )
Logging out (Looped back to the forum page)
Directly adding in the target url thats shown when you put the cursor over the link (I thought it might have become stuck in a loop and that would exit it. Didn't it simply stayed at the forum page and displayed the URL that was inputted)

But, in the end clearing the Cache fixed it.
It probably doesn't solve the problem, but is a quick fix if they do get stuck in that loop. Or at least might be

Next time it happens, could one of you try clearing your dakka cookies please? I'm starting to narrow down what it might be thanks to all the input so far. Anyone else who has had it happen, if you could copy and paste the details from the test URL provided by me in one of the earlier posts then that would help a lot.

Well that was part of it too. I cleared both. Next time I'll try them seperately.

No problems that I saw when I had the difficulty the other day

Next time it happens, please try immediately deleting your dakka cookies and seeing if that fixes it (obviously you'll need to login once more after removing the cookies).

I get this every time I restart the browser as well using firefox 3.6 or the alpha 3.7. If I clear the JSESSIONID cookie for dakkadakka, I have to relogin but the page is fine from there.

The symptoms are exactly the same as others have mentioned, no matter what you click on, (even log out) it kicks you right back to the index page.

The next time it happens, can you send me a screenshot of all the dakka cookies and their values. PM it, dont attach it to this thread to prevent anyone being able to break in to your account.

This is something I've still had no joy replicating, so any additional info, no matter how mundane is useful.

Hey lego, I think I know why this happens.

It seems that when I upgrade Firefox to a new version while logged in, even if Firefox is Closed, this happens, where any link to dakka takes me to the main forum page.

Clearing my Cache and Logging back in fixes the problem, so I suspect it's a FUBAR Cookie.

So that's something you should try out to see if thats what is causing it.

It was Firefox 3.5.8 upgraded to 3.5.9 on Linux Mint 8 if that makes any difference.
