I have my doubts as to how effective it will be. Giving up a whopping 23KP (or more, for 'Ard Boyz special missions), it is going to be hard to win Annihilation without simply tabling the opponent. However, 4 Furiosos and 2 Furioso Libbies hitting the table on turn one will cause at least a mild headache for some folks. Shock Wave is just going to maul Mech armies, which are very common now. 4+ to pen a Rhino and AP1? Yes, please. 8 Heavy Flamers should work over all but the most serious of Hordes, while 11 Meltaguns should help with anti-tank, Shock Wave replacing two of those during shooting. The Scouts were added to hold home objectives. Ideally, you will tie down the opponent so thoroughly, they won't notice them in cover, as they will be too busy crying about your 8 Dreadnoughts!

Thoughts?

I suppose we will find out if it is locked/deleted. Otherwise... maybe yes?

Trying to put that many pods into an already packed area via ard boys is going to cost you. Its just that some armies are going to be so big that the deployment zone will be packed. The other thing is that if you do crack the vehicles, your looking at what ever pops out having melta guns to burn your guys down. On top of the amount of fire power the enemy already has.

I would say a min of three dreads would be dead on turn one while the other three would have issues of some sort. Even if they could do anything, it would be a matter of time before they died as well. That and hoping they all land on target,,,

7 Dreads hit first turn, which is just disgusting. The tragic part is the 26 KP this list gives up, but it certainly would be a pain to deal with. Even with all the Melta most armies can muster, Guard excluded, this should prove a lot of AV13 to deal with. The Tacticals are mostly to boost Pod count, but they can also land close and blow a Melta shot.

Most tyranid lists I've seen would have trouble with this. loads of AV13 that actually wants to fight in assault... strange things indeed.

And who says this is based on a leaked army list? It is based on well formulated rumors, speculations and guesses about how the army list is going to look. I have seen nothing in that supposedly leaked list that makes me certain that it is reliable. It's not like it is pdf's of the printing-ready files including cut-lines. It's not even formatted or spellchecked properly.

Anyhow, I feel like a necrofiliac-sadist-beastialist here... beating a dead horse.

Mellon, I have a rather reliable source who confirmed that the pdf leak is pretty spot on.

@Ghaz - Yea, that might be a problem. Less worrisome of a match than Guard, though, honestly.

Yes, trust me. Guard is a worse match. ~19 BS4 Meltaguns at 1750, with an Inquisitor letting them get some freebie shots off before the Dread even does anything. That would be a nightmare match.

Oh, I didn't mean to disparage on the source of the codex that is the base of your list, I was more talking to Tokugawa above. It doesn't matter to me if it is a leak or just a competent fanmade list. The excercise of listbuilding is just as fun in any case. It's not like GW is the pinnacle of creating balanced, clear and creative rules anyhow ;-)
