Me and my friend where playing against eachother a few days ago.
So here's my question
If skull takers ability (skulls for the skull throne, rend on a 4+ and cause instant death) then would the try be instantly killed?
Me and my friend couldn't find anything in the rule book or the new Nid codex about trygon being imune to instant death but it didn't make that much sense that a big thing like a trygon would die that easily..
Help please?

The Trygon is NOT immune to instant death, synapse has changed to remove that protection.

Any weapon that casuses "Instant Death" iwll kill the Trygon. It is immune to S10 weapons doing so, but Wraith Canons, Stength D etc will all work fine.

Which is why, when an enemy has that kind of weapon, I always present a different target.

maybe... any of the multitude of single wound models in the Tyranid codex?

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

In short: don't send your trygon up against Skully. That should be fairly easy to do...

Yeah. What they said. Skulltaker eats the big nidz now, what with the whole "models within synapse are immune to instant death" rule being gone...

It was always a little obscene, the sticking point always having been making warriors effective - whcih they have tried to do with adding the wound to each one. THis makes them more resistant to small arms fire, less to powerful weapons. This seems a good balance to me, will see how this works in time!

I bet GW will change it via FAQ (not even an errata), just to annoy us.
