Jabberwocky 200 points WS 6 BS 2 S 9 T 1 W 1 I 7 A 5 Ld 2 Sv -
type: MC (unique)
rules: Instinctive Behavior - feed, Burst from the Ground, Poisoned (3+), Murderous Charge, Fleet, Stupidity, Swallow Whole
biomorphs: Adrenal Glands
weapons: rending claws, scything talons (2 pairs)
Burst from the Ground: The Jabberwocky may move, run, and assault on a turn in which it deepstruck. in addition, if the Jabberwocky deep strikes onto another non-vehicle unit, do not roll on the mishap table. Instead the enemy unit must take an initiative test. It then moves a number of inches equal to the amount by which they passed the test (if they fail the test, they do not move). Any models still under the Jabberwocky are assaulted by the Jabberwocky, and moved into base contact with the Jabberwocky. .
Murderous Charge: The Jabberwocky gets +2 Attacks and a 2+ invulnerable save on the charge.
Swallow Whole: No saves may be made against the Jabberwocky's attacks, and all wounds are instant death.
Stupidity: At the beginning of your turn, roll 2D6. If the Jabberwocky is not within that number of inches from the nearest synapse creature, it revert to instinctive behavior.

So. . . it moves so fast that it's guaranteed to get the charge, and it murders anything with even similar points cost in assault because it always strikes first with 7 WS6 S6 attacks, all of which wound on a 3+. And it rends. Right? Oh, and it can DS and then move, run and assault, so you'll never get to shoot it except for right after it's finished munching your most powerful unit. . . and it kills things that it DS onto. It's also T6, so it can't be instant-deathed by any normal weapons and everything short of AT weaponry wounds it on a 6. With a 3+ save. And four wounds.

Broken. So amazingly broken it's not even funny. Try 500 points, or make it way, waaaaay less powerful.

Even being T2 with no save, that's a rediculous assault range. What happens when it goes up against Tau or Guard? who cant really kill things in CC. . .

Well, at this point it's an interesting unit. Basically it pops out, kills one unit of its choice, and then dies in the following Shooting phase. I like it!

Against deathstar armies this would be devastating, but against armies with the points spread out among multiple units it would requrie very careful use to be effective.

Exactly! It's a 250 point ID-causing, quick-dieing MC. BOLTERS ID IT!
(the 10 wounds are a bit of a joke)

I think you could justify bumping it to T4 W4 or something like that. That at least gives some kind of hope that deploying it on the table, as opposed to Deep Striking, might be a valid option.

No way to be nice about this...it's junk.
I can't even begin to suggest anything to make this balanced or "fair"...instead I suggest you go back to the blank slate, and start again.

You're supposed to Ds it. Why would you let it walk? It would die fast than a grot in a grease fire. Even if I did that, It would be to tough.

I think the concept is interesting (tissue paper bazooka), but I'm not sure about the implementation.

I'd prolly remove all of the shooting weapons and all of the extra running speed. I'd also drop it to 6" move. I'd also remove the whole "if you're under me, you die". Just give it Inertial Guidance with the explanation that it is fast enough to move out of the way of things above it. I'd drop the wounds down to three or four. I'd also reduce the point cost to 200 points.

At that point, it's basically a cruise missle. Deep strike it near a target, let it nom nom for one round of combat, then die.

How should I know? I just live here!

you have the claws, but you don't have the jaws that bite!

Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumbered here
While these visions did appear.
