LORDS AND HEROES: 740 Slann; 465 - Three Disciplines [Full Lore, Free Die, Discard 6s], Cupped Hands, Power Stone, BSB Scar-Vet; 125 - BBoC, Enchanted Shield, Light Armour Skink Priest; 150 - Magic level, Diadem of Power, Dispel Scroll CORE: 632 18 Saurus Warriors; 246 - Spears, Full Command 18 Saurus Warriors; 246 - Spears, Full Command 10 Skink Skirmishers; 70 10 Skink Skirmishers; 70 SPECIAL: 625 15 Temple Guard; 325 - Full Command, SSoC 5 CoC; 185 - Musician 4 Terradon Riders; 120 TOTAL: 1997 This list is a result of my last few games. I've been trimming the fat and this is what I have come to. The Slann's disciplines can be changed to be more anti-magic with MR(3). The Priest is there to convert PD to DD to make up for the lack of them overall. The TG bunker has the SSoC to keep missile fire at bay since the unit is a magnet for that. Scar-Vet goes with the TG to take challenges and make up for the lack of a sixth file. Saurus will dish out 25 attacks when charged, making them dead killy. Skinks guard a flank while the CoC are the hammer on the other. C&C would be nice. My only real concern is that I have become low on Skinks to guard flanks. Other than that everything else has worked out pretty well.

I would drop the scar vet in favor of salamanders or razordons. I would also drop a unit of skinks, bring the terradons to 3 and add a second unit of them, giving you 6 total.
If you can avoid getting shot at on a flank, a razordon is a good way to hold it, and enemies are less likely to charge it.

I'm not sure that really adds anything to the discussion. He doesn't have a single stegadon, and saying that they "pwn" hardly counts as sound advice. If you are simply trying to boost your post count then perhaps you should post random crap in the polls section or some other random place.
As to your recommendation, the Engine of the Gods and other stegadons are often viewed the same as a steam tank. 1 is annoying, 2 is cheesy, and any more then that is a deal breaker.

I have considered taking more Terradons in the place of the Scar-Vet. I can usually get along fine with just the four but I will admit that there have been times I have wanted/needed more. I have used a Chief on a Terradon with a units of three and that has sort of made up for it by giving them more punch. Three Terrradons have a different role that four, also. Four can do the same thing as three in most cases, though. For a long time I did use Razordon on one flank. It was pretty funny but after awhile it got dry among the people I play with because they stayed so far away from them! I do like both options and could try to work them in. "it can pwn the blocks" is going to be my new catch phrase. I laughed so hard. As for Stegadons, they are fantastic. Two it a bit over kill at 2000 but I have done it (it hasn't made me any friends). I sometimes use a regular one at 2000 when I fight Ogres or a mass block with a high armour save. As for EotGs I use them more in higher point games. I do use them from time to time in lower point games, especially if I am not using a Slann. As much as I like them and as murderous as they are, they are a magnet for EVERYTHING. The longest I ever had one live is turn five. Granted a few of those times were my fault. I'll take one at 2500 and two at 3000.
