Does the nightmare shroud count as a shooting attack? It's used in the shooting phase instead of firing a weapon, it can't cause any actual casualties, doesn't require LOS.

If it's not a shooting attack, and after the decision concerning the Doom of Malantai, is it possible to affect units inside a transport with it? At which point, what happens if they fail their leadership, do they disembark and run for it? Additionally, will a pariahs soulless ability cause units inside a transport to be at Ld 7 at max?

a unit in a transport can't have a model within 12" of the necron lord, because the models aren't on the board, they cannot be affected by a nightmare shroud.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Once again the difference between "unit" and "model". Units are inside their transports. Models are somwhere else entirely.

it wouldn't matter as units can't fall back out of vehicles for whatever means, IE Doom's leeching

Actually, this is a houserule. A houserule that some well spread tournament organisers have chosen to play by, but it's still a houserule. There is no official word on morale checks for units in vehicles. Talk to your opponent before the game.
