Drop all the gretchin and increase the loota numbers. The gretchin serve little purpose because the kanz give them a cover save anyway, use the lootas for ranged support and anti tank. Any points left get another deffkopter.

Space Marine Scout with Sniper Rifle

The gretchins are for grabbing objectives late in the game. They hang in reserve and walk on to grab objectives I drop in my deployment. Otherwsise, I waste 30 boyz grabbing objectives.

You have enough troops choices already. 30 boyz won't be a waste when flamers come along, you'll be wanting those high numbers so you can lose some and still have survivors on the objective which can attack back next turn.

Bad idea about grots as orks play to annihilate. You can grab opponents objective that is enough to win most of the time. And "wasting" one mob means only to cap all the objectives with it because the mob is big!

Well, I recrunched the numbers and realized I was over 1850. So I had to drop the Koptas to get under. Now I have 50 points to burn and no idea what to do with it.
I really liked the copters, suicide turn 1 tank assaulting was a tasty concept, so if anyone has ideas of where I can shave points to get them back in, that'd be great!

Why is it weird? The way I've seen it explained makes perfect sense: If you take 10 orks, they will make a leadership test if 3 die. You fail this 50% of the time, and 105 pts of additional orks will run off the board. If you take 5 orks, they will take a leadership test if 2 die. You fail this 50% of the, and 45 pts of additional orks will run off the board. So, you take 1 group of 15 because at that point they need to kill 6 orks to even get you below fearless, and you take another group of 5 because it's not as big a threat and if they do allocate shots to it, it's not a big deal if they do end up running away. I think it makes sense anyway. Only thing I can see to make room for deff koptas is to replace some rokkits with Grotzookas, but I dunno if that's good or not.

I just realized something, when you write:

Is the 17 a typo or are you thinking of taking half the mob with slugga choppa? I don't think you can do that if so.
