Hi all!
I am thinking of new ways of improving my ork list and feel that it could still use some tweaking, as I wrote on the post's name, this list is revised and I think it improved. If you want to see the list in it's earlier days, check it in the things-I-posted thingie.

Cannock

Puttnig ghazgkull in a trukk isn't a good idea. Pop the trukk and ghazgkull is walking, he'll have to roll 3D6 for movement as he's a I.C and will slow down the other unit.

Two units of lootas are better than one. I guess the grotz are to give them cover? Really, I would drop the grotz and just make sure the lootas deploy in terrain.

Also you only have one battlewagon, this will be a easy target as its the only one on the board in your army.

I just thought of an entirely new list which is something like this first one, but with more anti-tank capibility, here it goes!

I'd say spend your last 272 on some Deff Coptas to add to your anti-tank and provide a great distraction for a turn to help your trucks get down the board.

Or max out your Tankbustas. Another 6 rokkits are nothing to snuff at.

Tankbustas go into the Looted Wagon and get dropped off somewhere in range of tanks, Burnas go into the battlewagon killing s*** with templates, Lootas support fire from cover, 5 trukks full of boyz are supposed to be surrounding the KFF wagon in turn 1 so they get obscured and block fire from the BW. In turn 2 the trukks should be unloading and killing everything. Ghaz will go along with the tankbustas hunting tuff' stuff down.

You need two units of lootas, really. I would drop the tank bustas mainly because you plan to bail them out. Orks with 6+ save in the open are dead. The lootas will give long range threat and covering support which will do for anti infantry and anti vehicle. There only worry is a outflank assault unit and long range ordnance.

Keep the burnas though as they are a very good unit, providing you keep them in a battlewagon

Alright, I'm still flexing my brain on this one. since I will drop my tankbustas, what will be my anti-tank capibility? I'll have naught. What I'm doing now is this: I thought of a bulk of my list that I'll try and customise from a certain point. This point has all the essentials in my army. Thi is as follows:

KFF Mek - 85
KFF Mek - 85

X4 x12 Boyz + Nob /w PK and BP - 167 x 4 = 668
- Trukk /w RPJ, Boarding Plank, Reinforced Ram and Grot Riggers

X2 Battlewagon /w 2 Big shootas, Boarding plank, Reinforced ram, Grot riggers, RPJ - 125 x 2 = 250

This puts me at 1094 points if I'm correct. Now I'm preety sure I want Lootas and Burnas, but then what will I have as anti-tank?? Maybe some deffkoptas but against AV14 like a LR I'm compleatly screwed. I NEED HELP!

Will you allow someone to question the premise of "mech orcs"? A couple of squads in trukks will always be handy for fast assault, but it seems to me the very idea, of "mech orks" is hobbling the list and depriving you of some fundamantal tools of the ork list....

I wouldn't waste points on ard boyz, just make them normal boyz.

Split the deffkopters so single or put the buzzsaw into the unit. Its easy to take down one deffkopter which is the only one with a buzzsaw.

AH yeah I see now.

Lose the kannon on the wagons as you can only move 6" and fire it but your boyz won't be getting into range. With the points save you've got enough to by a third wagon, just need more troops to put in there now.

I cant figure how you can play to win with only 4 trukks of orks and a mob of looters stuck on your baseline.

You have commited yourself to the attack, but note that once your trukks and your wagon roll forward, they will actually start blocking the lootas LOS (Line of sight).

Not only this. Trukk mobs are great for tangling with the enemy. But once they do they dont have the numbers, the armour or the morale to WIN. Trukks are a first wave, but you need MORE mobs as a second wave, bigger mobs because numbers grant fearless! Or more

Have you considered the (big) advantages of putting your nobs on bikes. The battlewagon is a point sink because (1) its pretty slow. (2) The relevant armour is 12 on the side, not 14 onn the front. the closer you get to the enemy the greater their arcs for side shots.

For nobs, trukks or bikes are better, trukks are actually AWESOME, the ramshackle rule can actually work in a your way hugely by ADDING to your distance travelled...lol. (hilarious!)
Personally I think if you want to go mech then leave the looters and wagon at home. Take two warbosses and stick em in mobs of nobs (troops) on trukks, and then use the elite slots to have biking nobs with combi scorchas doing their thing. Id get rid of everything that wasn't a fast moving ork with at least one powerklaw in each unit.

If you do go all mech, then you can also play the cute "all in reserve" start which leaves the other dude scratching his scrotum in turn one with nothing to shoot at.

If you want mech, it should be all mech, (no lootas) and nobs rule.

If you want lootas you gotta build a totally different list.

I posted my own list up there cos I don't want to give the wrong impression when I tell everyone else they are full of shate.

I like to go all mech and loota fire support is alweys welcome IMO, plus I like to have what I want on the board and I think thats what makes the game awesome, but wait theres more, it gets even more awesome when the units you like are good. WHo said that lootas are bad in mech lists? I see them in practically every mech ork post on this forum. I have tried it with nobs and you know where I'm at? 1 solid unit WITHOUT transport costs 400 points, maxed out, with a painboy and some PKs. Oh and BWs are good, so are trukks, I have played a game where NONE of my trukks were destroyed by the end of turn 1. If your BWs die in turn 1 or 2, then I think you should think how you play them.

P.S. So I've taken off the 'ardness of my boyz and switched the kannon with a big shoota, so now I have like 90 summink points. I gave my koptas buzzsaws, now I have 40 summink points, any ideas??

Eh? Lootas get LOS blocked? Stick them up on a 2 storey ruin. Any one knows that. LOS won't be blocked then and they can see the entire field. No one would put lootas on the ground which pretty much a lot of things would block LOS. Also ork forces wouldn't block LOS all the time, the orks won't cover a full 6ft table...
