Good morning,
I have kind of an IG oriented question. Say you attach a primaris psyker to a unit, which then receives an order such as bring it down or fire on my target. Do psychic shooting attacks benefit from such things? In other words, can a psychic shooting attack be twin linked? Since youre not rolling to hit, what would you reroll, the psychic test? And since Id assume theyd get a cover save against a psychic attack, I'd hope that the FoMT order would force a reroll of cover saves for your psyker too.
This is probably a dumb question, Im just trying to make sure I understand it correctly,
Thanks.

You do indeed roll to hit with a Psychic shooting attack. Only Orks(and possibly others I am not remembering) hit automatically.
BRB says:using a Psychic shooting attack counts as firing a ranged weapon.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Wow then the few times ive used him ive been doing it wrong. Youre using your ballistic skill? Why would his ballistic skill influence his psychic abilities?
Im not saying youre wrong, i didnt bring my book to work today so I cant look right now...
Assuming you're correct, then TL would help because you're shooting rules so theyd reroll misses.
Hrm.

It should work.
A rune priest is allowed to use a chooser of the slain in that if the chooser has LOS to a unit the rune priest wishes to shoot at, it increases the rune priest BS by 1. This increase in BS applies on the the to-hit rolls for all his psychic shooting attacks as well.

It counts as firing a ranged weapon, so yes, you use your BS.
Why would his ballistic skill influence his psychic abilities?
It would represent his ability to accurately aim the power at the target, just as it does for any other ranged weapon.

Yep, it's one thing to be able to call forth the lightning (Psychic test), it's another thing altogether to get the lightning to go where you want it to (shooting).
