I got some AoBR terminators on ebay and combined them with greenstuff (my first attempt ever, so be kind ) and a bunch of weapons to create these guys. They were a butt-load of fun and I have 1 more that has bits glued to him and still needs greenstuff and two more that are still on the sprue. All in all I got 5 obliterators for $70.00 less than if I had purchased them retail.

For those of you curious on how I did them, here goes:
1.) Preperation: File off eagles and imperial insignias and cut out the terminator head.
2.) Assembly: I used the models as is - meaning I just glued them together and began gluing weapons onto the stormbolters and powerfists. I may have made slight cuts or filing here and there to make certain things work, but the models are mostly unchanged under the puddy. I found - as a noob to greenstuff - that they provided me with good solid base to build upon.
3.) Greenstuff: Next I added greenstuff over the weapons to make it look obliterator-ee. I also added greenstuff on some random parts of the bodies as well as on the legs where imperial stamps had been cut off.
4.) I then used some plasticard that I glued under their feet to give them a bit more height than a normal termie and added them to a base. Then I painted them...

Anyway - I hope you veteran guys like them and the newbies get inspired.

Note: If you can tell me how to add the pics here instead of having a link I would appreciate it.

I like it but I think you need to drill out the barrel of the grenade launcher

hose are actually pretty good. definitely the best termie to oblit conversion I've seen. I think oblits are a smidge taller but hey they're pretty spot on.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in?

I agree.

The only thing for me is that you should remove the imperial symbols on the legs.

Otherwise, this is very good stuff, and I really like the way you worked the arms, it's worth the official model .

You know - I don't own a drill and have never done that, but I guess I am far enough along in the modeling aspect of it to drop the cash, eh? This may be the next item I get.

Thanks, man. There are three more to come!

Yeah...I got rid of the eagles and stuff, but I left the leg ones on because I feared the oblits would look bland without. Maybe I can try filing those off on the next one and see what happens.
Thanks for the compliments.

Color me impressed! Great timing on the post too, as I've been dithing on what to do for my heavy slots and just HAPPEN to have 6 terminators that I more or less mothballed after the first squad I painted performed so "Meh"-ly. I would have never guessed you could make them look this good! I mean, really, they look as good as the real thing! And they're cheap!

What technique do you do to get your flesh coloring? Did you just pain white, wash, and then highlight?

Definitly going to try this. I just hope I can get the putty to look as organic as you did!

What do you plan on doing with the "Helmeted" terminators? Or do you plan on only using the organic ones?

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Observations on complex unit wound allocation: If you're feeling screwed, your opponent is probably doing it right.

Yeah - I paid $28.00 w/ shipping on ebay for 5 AoBR teminators and a handful of IG weapons.

Primed - Chaos Black
1.) Tallaran Flesh
2.) Wash with Scab Red
3.) Highlight bleched Bone

Originally I had added a Skull White to this, but it came out too bright. I rewashed it and just highlighted it with Bleached Bone once more. That's what you see. It's a simple paint scheme that definately gives the model table-top readiness. (IMO)

As with most things I find myself attempting this hobby, it isn't as hard as it seems once you actually try it. I suggest patience, though. You'll notice that while you're working on one arm, the other is being fondled by a stray thumb and you have to redo the puddy work. Also - I would say not to glue the mdoel to a base until the greenstuffing is complete. I actually put so much pressure on one that he came off the base. Let plastic glue dry overnight before throwing puddy on it and putting a ton of pressure onto it. Others may have better advice for this.

I found that the flesh turned out best by putting deeper grooves in the greenstuff and then adding light slices around wherever I could. Once all the lines were added, I complimented the flesh with random "pricks" - I punched small holes in it with my tools.

One of these (the one with the Slannesh head that has the horn growing out of it) actually had a normal termie head, but I cut it out and added my own. You have to be careful with this, as a mistaken clip or cut can destroy the back piece that surrounds the head. My next one is actually wearing a helmet and has a twisted, daemon-like appearance. I will post it soon.
