Hey all, I'm contemplating something that appears to be insanely stupid and I need some Warmachine vets to talk me out of it. There's a steamroller tournament coming up and for some reason I've got the notion to jumpstart my warmachine career by sprinting headlong into this tournament.

The battle is 35 points, and to tell y'all the truth I have no idea how many units that is. I want to build a very elite Khador army, consisting of Vlad, eVlad, or Karchev. Tons of heavy warjacks, tons of Man-o-War troops, with some Widowmakers and Battle Mechanics sprinkled in. Not sure how I'd run Vlad/eVlad but since I have a penchant for the Beserker model I have this idea of running Karchev with some 'zerkers. It seems like a fun strategy to run full force at an enemy, get in a bunch of hits, and then detonate the 'jacks if need be. How much would the buy-in be to assemble a 35 point army?

i dont think the steamroller format is conducive to learning the game. theres a time limit on turns so you might not even know what you can do before your turn is up.
what might help is watching some of the games and learning some tricks. maybe ask a khador player with similar units/jacks or one of the same casters if you can tag along and watch?

Hmm. That isn't that bad of an idea actually, since I'd be going with a gaming group I just started up with. I'm sure one of them would like to show off their skills in front of a newbie lol.
