I've recently purchased a product, from sculpey, known as "Studio".

I'm wondering, has anyone had any experience with this putty? it's a bake-to-dry clay, and was planning to use it to learn sculpting 28mm models, and i need to know whether it holds detail well enough for such a use?

I would have posted on Trollforged, but i don't currently have an account with them.

Thanks ~Jakkarra

-Oh, damn, i thought i had posted this in modelling and painting, would a mod be willing to move this for me please? Sorry.

You simply need to make an account there!

I think Ed posting something over there about that kind of sculpting, let me get back to you on that one later! Got to go do some interviews now! :O

Best sculpter I know uses green stuff, otherwise I hear the new fad amongst the elite is milliput. Reason I'd recommend apoxy is it goes through a whole range of hardnesses, you can sculpt a mouth when it's squishy and put the teeth in as it hardens.

I've used sculpey before, last I checked it was mostly used to make jewelry and fancy designs called millefiori.

I rather like ProCreate, though I am neither pro nor particularly creative when it comes to sculpting. It isn't as sticky as GS though, and can be mixed different ways to give differing hardnesses and the like. Might be worth giving a shot.

Green Stuff, Grey Stuff and procreate can be mixed together to produce different properties.

Milliput is good though tends toward the sticky side (sometimes).

Super Sculpey is another good choice.

Whatever you I would strongly recommend wearing latex gloves and keep some water or vaseline handy.

I think your request has already been approved. But here is a link to the thread I mentioned which might interest you!
