I've been pretty decent with my Mech Orks but now I am looking to try the Kan wall at next GT. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. In addition, I need to shave 12 points. Any suggestions?

really i would replace the BW carrying the shootas with a trukk, that would shave off some points but thats just me

Well, one a tournament isn't going to let you be 12 points over. I think you should shave down the 30 slugga boys to 20 and put them in the battlwagon and the boyz in a trukk. Maybe even do the same with the meganobz, but not so much for them. Personally i'd also swap one unit of kans for some more meganobz.

Hmm you guys are very right. I just noticed I have all my heavy slots taking up by kans so i'm going to have to take a trukk. Just worried about all that attention that 1 BW will get. I'll make some adjustments, thanks for the input!

Wait, Kan wall WITH vehicles? If you want vehicles, grab some transports and dump the Kans. Kan wall is Kans with...well...a lot of orks behind it. \

So if your going Kans all those Boyz should be 30 strong with Shootas on foot. You'll want more lootas. Ghazkull is good(duh) although I hate seeing you with only on KFF to cover the ENTIRE Kan wall. Meganobs are always nasty, although if you need to drop them to get more boyz, I would.

Kan wall is really a footslogger list, if you want mech, drop the kans get something that's gonna keep up with the rest of your force. If your in vehicles, they'll outstrip the Kan wall and ruin the point of having them anyway!

Sound advice. Just a bit worried though about footslogging Ghaz and meganobs so that's why I added the BW. I really don't like meganobs but I think they go well with Ghaz. So how's this?

Eternal Plague

What is your response versus tank and armor heavy lists? You have some Lootas, but not a max unit, and you have lots of anti-horde weapons, but maybe a bit too much.

whats up with snikrot in the army? he comes in turn 2-3 kills a squad (or rear armor 10 vehicle) and dies? your army wont be there to support him at all. its kind of the same with the battle wagon, it will receive all the focus (or a lot) as it rushes up. your army just seems too diversified. IMO you can't have fast and slow

I agree with Atode. You want either to be Kan wall foot sluggas, or mech rush. Gear up those boyz with shootas, and those kans w/ Rokkits for AT. Drop the Kommandos and meganobs for more lootas and I'd strongly recomend getting a second big mek.

OR...

Break down those squads into 12 strong with slugg/choppasm in trucks. Get a bunch of lootas and BWs with 20 sized mobs and Ghaz.

I think I can see what hes going for with the BW kan combo. It runs similarly to a kan wall, at first with the kans and BWs moving together. I mean kans can't shoot (not enough range) for at least a turn or two so they can run and the BWs can gain some extra ground. The mek KFFs what he can, and what wagons he cant get you shield with the kans. The sloggin boyzs (which i agree should be shootas) move like the kans, moving and running until they're in range then shoot as they advance, and at that point the wagons race out of formation to disgorge ghaz,meganoboz, and slugga squad or 2 into the enemy with a waaagh, which keeps them tied up until the shootas get there.
I somewhat agree with snikrot. He might be able to tie up some heavies for a bit. I'm not sure about him in this setup.

Just a note on AT, kans w/ rokkits are awsome. They hit on 4s!!! Great AT. Tossing Ghaz in a massive unit of boyz works well, but if you wanna keep them, that's cool

I somewhat agree with snikrot. He might be able to tie up some heavies for a bit. I'm not sure about him in this setup.


Exactly what I was going for with the Kans, BW and Ghaz Waaagh! combo. I was just going to run the kans turn 1 with BW and Big mek close by. I never used kans before, so I don't really know their strengths but with the release of the new models I just can't help myself.

Just started using Snikrot and hes help has been invaluable last couple of games. (sorry Canute ) More so as a huge distraction for the rest of my army then anything else.

However you guys make very good valid points about my lack of AT. Last GT I was in, 66% of the players there were MEQ and I didn't do very good with my Hybrid sloggin/mech list. I need to address this.

well, IMO you should keep snikrot just in case you face any IG artillery, (some of the most annoying units for an ork army). personally like i said before, drop the BW and use a trukk. another thing i havnt really got was why everyone thinks the KFF is so great. really its just a 5+ cover save so it would only replace the orks 6+ save, other than that it really doesn't really cover vehicles all that well for me beacuse its just 5+, but mabey thats just my luck. really if you want to keep the KFF, go for it, it just really hasnt worked for me so i dont think its all that great.

KFF offers a 4+ cover save to vehicles. But you're right about Snikrot. His ability to draw attention is very instrumental.
