I've got my WIP Goff Rocker Trukk here. More amps and cabeling on the way, but I think you get the idea.

My question is: Would you guys accept the awesome rockingness as a "counts as" wreckin' ball? I bet I could come up with some other uses for the one on there, and I like the idea of the rockers playing so loud that it blows passing vehicles over (or up).

I realise this always comes down to your opponent, but what do YOU think?

In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. When human beings are governed by "thou shalt not", the individual can practise a certain amount of eccentricity: when they are supposedly governed by "love" or "reason", he is under continuous pressure to make him behave and think in exactly the same way as everyone else.

I wouldn't have a problem with it, and I'd imagine anyone in a casual game wouldn't have a problem with it either. I think the only place that you may run into trouble would be in a tourney, in which case you'd just have to ask the TO and explain to your opponents before hand. In the end, I think most players would find it cool and not have a problem with it, even in a tourney.

One of them has the ball.

I think you should model it on, because it really should be there, and honestly, it's just too cool to choose not to model.

So...You think I ought to leave the wrecking ball on the Trukk?

Yep.

If it really bothers you, I recommend modelling it to be rocky. Put an Ork/Grot swinging on it, or convert it into a disco ball.

I'll think about it, I might be able to come up with something.

No disco ball.

Maybe it's just me, but... isn't there already a wrecking ball on that truck?

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

I think its a cool idea and I dont think you would have problems at a tournament with this providing that a) you explain to your opponent what it is and
b) model the upgrade the same on all models that have it.
At the moment it creates confusion because both vehicles have the same upgrade but are modelled completely different.

My favourite orks . . . and that trukk looks awesome! I think you should just leave the ball, a gretchin or ork swinging round on the ball all goffed up would just look awesome.

The reason I want to remove it is that I could make use of it on another model (I love having crazy bits to work with).

However, if most people think it should stay than so be it. I'll have to integrate it.

And I'm glad you liek the trukk

@belail: BTW, those are both the same trukk, but the birghter pics are from before I added all of the rockingness.

Indeed. I used mine for deffkopta 'buzzsaws', they're nifty bits.

If you really want to use the wrecking ball upgrade though, I don't think just removing them would work well. I think you need something reasonable at a glance on there if you want it to make sense, even if it's a giant speaker on one side.

I picture an absurdly awesome 'Uge Choppa, but Buzzsaw sounds really cool too.

I'm planning on adding more amps anyway, So I'll try and place one so that it is an obvious blow up passing vehicles" amp. It certainly seems to make sense in fluff, considering the way ork psychers work.

I'll keep you all posted as work progresses.

Pika_power...I think perhaps we have different views on modeling...

Not saying that your way of doing it is wrong, but I like the randomness of taking a bit from one kit and sticking it on another (see my three-armed mad dok as an example). Its not that I specificly WANT the wrecking ball over any other random bit, but between the awesome fluffiness of a rock trukk that blows things up, and an ork who has more or less stolen something from one of his vehicles....I would feel terrible not at least giving it a shot.

I'm an ork, my modeling is as random as possible.

Yes. This is what is happening.

That randomness is definitely enjoyable. The thought of a nob swinging about a giant wrecking ball is a good idea, and I agree with the fluffiness. I'm concerned about the RAW WYSIWYG aspect of it, as we're in the rules forum. If this were in the painting and modelling forum, I'd support it wholeheartedly.

My main argument really depends on how awesome the conversion is. If it looks as if it could rip a hole in another vehicle with a soundwave, I'd be fine with it, but if it appears to be a counts-as out of laziness rather than an effort to have a cool model, I'd be doubtful.
