Solid list. Dropping the Skinks to a unit of ten won't make them any worse, really, and would let you take some extra handlers. I find that they are really necessary, it might just be my luck, but I misfire at least once a game. Loosing three on that pesky D3 is a bummer but with that extra you can keep going. This a minor thing, not a list-breaker.

My only real complaint is that you lacking a solid hammer. With three anvils you are going to find you want one. A unit of Kroxigor or some CoC are your best bets. The EotG can fill this roll but should be sitting next to the TG to give it that 5+ ward Sv for the first turn or so.

Side note: I think you hit the wrong key when you put down for the Saurus.

A solid idea indeed with the handlers.

Not sure what you mean with the wrong key.

I may add in a unit of COC after I mod some on the DE cold ones. I would likely sac a single razordon and a salamander to pay for them.

I meant that you have them as 146, when they are 246.

Also, yeah... I would convert them. The current CO are a bit DURRR. Sadly most of mine are from earlier editions or from before I started caring and I would hate to pull them apart!

oops!!!

And yes, the 6th edition plastic cold ones look like stupidity is now modeled onto them.

I have a set of 8 metal 6th edition ones on Ebay right now, if they don't sell I may just repaint them.

I don't really get how you are going to win with this army. Most armies are just going to avoid those three powerful block units, leaving you only your Magic to do the damage.

I think you could really use some faster combat units (like Cold One Cavalry). I'd suggest dropping the Razordons (and splitting the Salamanders into two single units) to find some points. Dropping the Saurus Warriors to 12 man (without Command but with Spears) could be a place to draw points from as well.

As someone else pointed out already, the Skink Skirmishers really don't need more then 10 in a unit.

And finally, I don't get the Diadem of Power on the Skink Priest. You have a fairly strong Magic Phase, why reduce your offensive Magic strength by using the Diadem of Power? I'd suggest the Plague of Tepok instead.

Trust me, a list like this can and will win. I run a pretty similar 2000. See, the thing is that with three blocks the enemy is going to have to attack at some point or eat it from magic and/shooting. Between the Skink and Razor/Sallies you can more-or-less choose where they are going to charge for them. At some point, the enemy is going to hit the TG unit, it's 750 points.

I have run one decent sized units (nice with Scar-Vet) of CoC in games some times. It's a brutal unit. They soaked A LOT of fire and I can usually get a charge on turn two; in the games I haven't they usually are shot, run around, then trample by something. Hit or miss for me. This army is a pretty stationary build, though, so that speed wouldn't go with the flow.

The Priest is stuck with the Lore of Heavens which, quite frankly, sucks. The Slann is where the mgic focus should be. The PoT is good if there is no Slann, otherwise he is there for support purposes primarily.

The Plague of Tepok is terrible when you don't have a Slann, as a Lizardmen army without a Slann Mage Priest shouldn't be focussing on the Magic Phase at all!

If you think the enemy has to get into combat with your Temple Guard unit at some point in the game, then you are wrong. Top tier armies like Daemons of Chaos and Dark Elves outmanoeuvre this slow army while picking it apart. The Saurus Warrior blocks can be taken care of by flanking, while the Temple Guard unit can be easily avoided. The most important Spells that the Slann Mage Priest can cast will be dispelled (either with Dispel Dice or with Dispel Scrolls) and the other Spells will inflict minor damage.

not bad, but id suggest a saurus oldblood in there somewhere

-1754pts wins: 3 losses: 2
-842 pts wins: 3 loses: 0

A Slaan is much better than an Oldblood, IMHO.

However, I think you need some more big units, like Stegadons or something, as those Saurus just can't do it alone.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

I am not saying that the enemy NEEDS to fight the TG. The longer the enemy stays away from them the better the Lizardmen player will do. The Saurus have units to guard the flanks.

Lizardmen are a good match for DE, in fact, I do well against them often with a very similar list. As for DoC, they are the MOST broken army in Fantasy (a slowed monkey could win with them). Since DoC can get double the PD in this army in DD easy, there is no point in even comparing the two. DoC are a whole can of worms I care not to discuss. An army like this does fine against armies that AREN'T broken. Hell, Lizardmen are good against DE and VC for the most part. As long as you aren't incompetent and can plan ahead a little, a list like this can preform very very well.
