Would some images from an old D&D book acceptable? I'd like to do a retro review of the old Deities and Demigods book.

In most cases, no, but since you understand the gallery very well, it should be ok provided you clearly tag each image with 'Copyright (company name)' with the appropriate company name so that the images can be deleted if requested. This is obviously only applicable if the book is out of print too.

Note to anyone else, this is a one-off special case, it does not mean you can start uploading copyrighted stuff to the gallery.
