You need to be a little clearer on what you're asking. Did you mean to ask if people like the models? Their rules? Their effectiveness in an army? Their background? Something else?

I love how the models look, and how they can be painted to look. I however find that the "Striking scorpions" Lack any kind of actual "Win" on the battlefield in close combat against anything that isn't...say tau. Or maybe other Eldar. Cause everything else is going to eat them for lunch ask for seconds, then thirds, then maybe be content. The only saving Grace for them is a Powerfist going at Str 6....so at least its a power weapon wounding most things on 2's. and then there is their Phoenix lord. HE is actually awesome

Striking scorpions suffer from 2 major drawbacks.

1. they share an elite slot with Fire Dragons – in my opinion the best elite Eldar unit available.

2. their strength is volume attacks which can be replaced by numerous other eldar units; bladestorming dire avengers who are troops, scatter laser war walkers who are vehicles, even 2 guardians (who cost the same as a single striking scorpion) can put out the same str 4 volume. Coupled with a general lack of resilience against nearly everything in CC except for guardsmen, termegaunts, and fire warriors, they become unviable very quickly.

I WANT to like striking scorpions. I WANT to incorporate them into a competitive army. Unfortunately I cannot and my elite slots consistently go to Wave Serpent mounted Fire Dragons who have far more utility against high-value targets such as AV, MC’s and multi-wound units.
