I've been using armorcast & dark arts bases, which I like, but I'd like to base 80 marines and 40 terminators. I was wondering if anybody had some recommendations for less expensive resin bases?

you could buy... 1 of each base that you liked... and then cast them yourself

I can't really keep up with assembly and painting. Plus, I'd really rather not appropriate somebody's work.

Does anyone know the best way to re-base models? Most of mine are the ones that go in the slotted base. I did a really bad job on them and want them off as sooon as possible. Thanks for the links anyways.

cheapest way for me was to take a regular base. add a bunch of urban basing kit stuff to it super glue and arrange it the way I wanted and then made a Scuply mold out of it and used to mold to make clay copies. they are rather large. and sit on top of my normal term bases but they work.
example as shown.

We are offering them next month over at http://www.awesomepaintjob.com/
We try to keep our pricing extremely competitive. Expect to see new styles of bases in the future as well.

What I do with slotta tab models is to cut most of the tab off but leave a small bit under each foot. Drill a hole in your resin base and stick the stub under the foot in the hole and glue. Paint your model and base before you glue.
If you drill the hole all the way through you can glue from the bottom of the base.... just be careful you don't dribble super glue out the top onto your base.

I cut them flush to the sole of the boot. I mix up a bit of JB Weld and put a dot under each foot. JB Weld (once it cures) has an insane shear and flex strength like 4 tons and 2 tons. Also good to 500F. The plastic will fail before the feet will come off the base.

Dragonforge Design is the best for affordable, well designed, resin bases...
http://dragonforge.com/
i also like the Wyrd metal inserts, as they have flat bottoms which fit perfectlly on GW 40K bases...
i love the resin ones from Dark Age Groundwerks, but they are more expensive than Dragonforge...
Enigma makes some good ones as well, but they are all PP style bases, with the rounded lip...
all 3 of these makers stuff is available in the Coolmini store, and some are sold at The Warstore...
good luck, it sounds like you have a lot of work ahead...
cheers
