They make nice dreadnought snacks and are good targets for PAGKs to practice with. They are nice and resilliant so you get some enjoyment of watching the bolts bounce them around, but eventually they break a bone or something and you have to put them out of their misery

i have never had SSs cause me much trouble. Eldar players pay good points for an elite choice that has the same Str and save as a space marine and is far, FAR more easier to wound. i give them a big fat MEH out of amazingly ineffective.

Eldar have far better things to spend points and elite slots on.

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Judging by how many threads you've started about SS I'm gonna guess you're pretty obsessed with the blasted things. Go buy some and figure out yourself if they're any good or not. Hint: They're not.

As a counter-point to everyone else, I've had nothing but success with them. Outflanking a squad of 10 guys with 3 S4 attacks base with a 3+, high leadership/WS/I, and at only 1 point more than power smurfs, I love them. I've won more than a few games by outflanking them and destroying the one unit of guys guarding the home objective. And against hordes, they're incredible. The eviscerate orks, tau, kroot, gaunts, necron warriors, and basically any squad that isn't loaded down with power things. Sure, eldar have something like 9 elite choices, and they're all incredible, but for me scorpions are always in my list. Just know what you want them to do. They're not good as troubleshooters. Get them in quick and pick the right target (like all things elven).
