New to Privateer press, starting Legion

So far I have the following models:

Lylyth, Herald of Everblight
Carnivean
Shredder (x4)
Shepher

I don't want to build a huge army, but wondering what else to add? I like the idea of a beast heavy army, but don't know what to get.

Thoughts on what to add? I'd like to add to, not replace what's there.

If you are going to go beast heavy, changing your caster to Absylonia as she benefits them the most. A second Carnivean is an option. The Forsaken also provide some more fury management. Beyond that... sorry, don't know legion that well. Battlecollege is always a good thing to check out.

Vayl is a good legion caster. I'd go with her. Just a very frail caster though, so keep her well protected. I know you don't want to replace what you have, but Lilith really works better with ranged attackers, so unless you want to get lots of Seraph, Vayl is the better option.

After that, I second the second Carnivean option. They're really solid with good abilities. An Angelius is a good buy as well. Really fast, very deadly.

40k Armies I play:

I would say add some swordsmen. They are good at taking out a lot of things in the game. Parasite the opposing beast and it is easy to take even the heaviest beast out...

I have also had some luck with warmongers. They hit hard and are pretty hard to take out because of their wounds.

For the rest start with the list you have. If you feel you need more fury in a turn and you can't burn it off of the beasts then add another shepperd. Alternatively a forsaken might also work. Want more range on beasts take another caster, or use the shepperds to your advantage.

Good luck

You can't go wrong with Striders + UA. They're a little hard to get the hang of using correctly, but once you suss them out they'll be your MVP's for ever (totally generalized and probably wrong, but I love my Striders).

Lylyth can easily go beast heavy if you're careful; get a forsaken or two, and add at least one Seraph.
Her Blood Lure is also great for melee beasts, such as the Nephilim Soldier, Angelius or Raeks.

DONT go with 2 carniveans! Get Typhon instead, if you ask me.

BTW, what points-bracket are we looking at here? That makes it easier to make possible lists for you

I'm looking at 35pt list basically.

It's not that i want beast heavy at all cost, i'd like to add to what I have to get to 35pts.

Maybe a list llike this would serve you:

Lylyth, Herald of Everblight +5
- Raek 4
- Shredder 2
- Shredder 2
- Carnivean 11
Blighted Nyss Swordsmen (Leader and 9 Grunts) 8
Blighted Ogrun Warmongers (Leader and 4 Grunts) 8
Blighted Nyss Shepherd 1
Blighted Nyss Shepherd 1
Strider Deathstalker 2
Strider Deathstalker 2

Shredders can do solohunting and a bit of lightbeast hunting when together. The Carnivean is big and scary, able to do all jobs required. Raek gives you a model with nice potential for damage. Swordsmen and warmongers give a nice and hard core for the army. They takle out small and big things (warmongers have berserk and therefore are a bit better at taking out other infantry... The shepperds help fury management and are cheap filler, while stille usefull... Deathstalkers hunt Solos and can take out the last remnants of a unit.

Hope this list helps you get to where you want to be...
