My FLGS is in the middle of a planetstrike league right now, and I am starting to think ahead to the next one.

I had to really think the PF's through. Very tough. More times than not they have proven to be very valuable.

Simple strat. Drop in, kill some bastions, then kill the defenders that were in them. The termies are there to kill any vehicles that the defender may leave on the board, or go assault an open topped bastion.

Any thoughts?

I would take some Regular Terminators with Chainfist. They are awesome at cutting down Bastions. Also Ironclads were designed with Planetstrike in mind

The best strat I've used is just flood the board with terminators and Dreadnoughts . When you got 6 elite slots it's not hard to do.

Remember you can't Assault out of a Drop Pod but you can with Deep Striking Terminators. Take the forward observers stratgem so you can re-roll your scatter dice.

I know that you can assault out of the DS. The only reason I was taking assualt termies was because of Vulkan special rule. I totally forgot about chain fists! Will definitely consider them! As for Ironclads, I didn't have good luck with them when I play tested them. I seem to have better luck with plain old infantry busting bunkers, but I see your point.
