Subject: Is the VC Banshee screem a "missile attack"?
Q. Many army books have magic items that
provide protection against ‘Missiles’. However the
Main Rulebook does not provide a comprehensive
definition of what ‘Missiles’ are. Can you please
provide us with guidance on what ‘Missiles’ are in
regards to Magic Items?
A. We assume that the word ‘missiles’ includes all
attacks executed in the Shooting phase as well as
spells that are labelled as ‘magic missiles’.
To add confusion in the Vamp FAQ, is says that the Banshees attack is not a shooting attack even though it happens in the shooting phase -- page 3 of the faq.

I'm with Nos, on this. Prior to the FAQ I would have said it is definitely a ranged attack, but not a "missile", per se, as nothing is being fired. The FAQ rules otherwise, however.

Why does GW answer a question to one of their own rules by prefacing with "We assume..."? That does not give me much faith in this ruling. "Well, we guess this is what we meant. Cocaine's a helluva drug..."
