A friend of mine looked at all the army lists I sent him, and told me that I should play dark eldar.

Dark Eldar do everything I like to do in 40K, fly around the board really fast and blast faces off...problem

I can, not, stand, the warrior models, nor the archon model...nor, really any model from the entire range, (the dracon model is OK, as is Lelith...but everyone else just bleh), and the raider model is OK...I guess, but I think it could use a little more, the one in the art (in the main rulebook) almost looks like it has a sail ala the 1st edition Wave Serpent.

Good news for the DE is I love converting stuff!

So, what would you guys suggest? Would it be easy to find a 1st edition Wave Serpent to use as a raider, or should I abandon this idea? What's the best way to build a warrior wych I won't end up hating? (I have storm guardians or Rangers in mind, which would be easier?) And if you guys did any conversions what are some tips you could pass on.

I am slowly resculpting the whole range. I will have pictures up and offer limited sale as soon as I work out my casting issues.

The warriors bodies look good as long as you throw out the head and trim the outrageous shoulder pads.

The ravagers I am working on use the current model but with solar sails like Jabba's Slave barge.

I find the incubi models to be fine as is.

as for Wyches most people use Dark Elf wyches and give them pistols, they look pretty good that way.

After that you wont use any other models till we get a new codex or 6th ed makes them good some how.

The more I look at the incubi the more I dislike the skull helment. The Dark Elf bitz+Eldar bitz is something I'll consider...in fact it might actually work better than trying to do a heavy conversion of a straight up eldar model. (especially a metal one like a ranger)

Good luck with your rescuplts man! That sounds like a fun project.

If you're talking about the Armorcast one, I would suspect you're going to struggle a bit. They do pop up on eBay from time to time, but for some reason they're not one of the more commonly surfacing kits.

They're also not really ideal for a raider, being fully enclosed.

Well if you don't like the Icubi helmets you are going to need to use striking scorpion heads, or find some way of attaching a gun to the heads you like.

I suggest combinging the current Eldar warrior models with plastic bits from the fantasy Dark Elves sprues.
