Who is making the test when a Witch Hunters army uses faith points? Is it a random "gift", or a psychic ability performed by a certain model?
Do the abilities usually last the duration of the game (until that unit is destroyed), or a 1 shot deal?

I've been running into more and more WH/DH groups lately, and would like to avoid spending $60+ on books, when those can be put towards getting more precious models!

It's called a personal message...should the question be directed at GWAR!...

As for the question... the Witch Hunter makes the test for using faith... it's his faith.

It is not a psychic power, it's...faith power .
Their duration is as described in their entry.

YMDC is for rules clarification, not giving out rules. Huge difference IMO. You'll just need to borrow your opponents' book when you guys fight.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

All the rules are detailed on page 18 of Codex: Witch Hunters.

Dont ask for specific rules. GW gets angry if people explicitly post their IP, so nobody here will give it too you.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Not Gwar!

1. The player is making the test. Ok, it's the unit wishing to perform te act that makes the test.

2. It is neither. It's a special ability performed (at the cost of a Faithpoint and following a succesfull test) by a given unit.

3. It's a one shot deal as specified by the given act.

Acts can be tricky. It would be wise to burrow a codex and read up on them.

Yes, I had originally ment to send this as a message.

But in the end figured pretty much anyone could answer this for me.

I should have posted this in the proper forum yes, but I happened to be reading a YMDC thread when I went to type it

Can I get a mod to move this to the appropriate forum?

Thanks.

Steelmage99 has it covered correctly, though it would be wise to get the codex and scour it

I second Gwar!s codex absorbing idea. Ask your opponents to keep it on hand during the game too, the faith rules are.... Pernickity

All the AoF have fairly strict restrictions as to when they can be used and also relate to the number of models left in a unit (different for IC's)and also which models can use them (in general, if the model has no boobs it can't use acts of faith).
