so, I've not posted on here in a minute, and i kindly regret it, but anyway. One of my other hobbies is airsoft, and I was wanting to do an imperial guard loadout for a little project, so, if you all could throw some pics or ideas my way for how to do this it'd be much appreciated, thankyou

A MICH 2000 replica with no cover, a chest/shoulder plate carrier for the IG body armor, a SCAR-L (closest look to Lasgun IMO), and some newer model boots (the old 'Nam style boots don't look very similar to Guard ones IMO), and whatever cammies you want, from OD to MARPAT .
I can link you all of this stuff.
Oh, and no backpack, pouches, assault vest, or any extra mags

I would suggest this:
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_150&products_id=5040
There aren't many airsoft guns that look like a Lasgun. Im thinking of a sight rail, and this fits decently. I would fill in center of the rail, where it is open. Maybe some modification to the front grip.
If your going to do this, use a good airsoft company. Not cybergun.

I personally think that anything H&K G-Series, anything M-series, and a bunch of other modern weapons look "too modern" for a lasgun.
Dig one out of your bitz box.
It's got a fixed stock, a rather squarish, boxy body, no iron sights, just a scope that runs very flat to the top, and no carry handle.
SCAR-L was the best fit I could think of of the top of my head. Put a long scope on top and voila. There isn't much modification needed, either.
The carry handle on the G-36 and its two variants is also rather high for the lasgun IMO.
I sincerely agree with "Get a good gun". I've never fired anything from Cybergun in my life and I'll take my JG M4 into HtH before I do

JG is decent. But don't last to long. The internals will turn to moosh with to much firing. But they hit pretty hard, and are reliable.

with the gun thing a couple of us are actually looking to make a g36 into a bolter and later a lasgun, if we find success in this we may even keep going with it and see what else we can make

Well, im a fan of CA personally. I use to have a CA M14A4 with Systema High Torque gears, G&P Polycarb Piston, TM EG 1000 Motor, PDI 190% Spring (400+ FPS) and a hole bunch of junk. Haven't played airsoft in forever though. Noone in my area played too often. Hell, I even use to be a Mod on Airsoftforum, if you have ever heard of it.
Whats your favorite brand?

I am a JG fan through and through.
They shoot so great out of the box that it stops me from running out and spending hundreds on internals right away
Their new stuff is fantastic. Anything '09-'10 from them just dominates the field.
My '09 M4 shot 364-370 with .25s straight out of the box. It's taken a dunk and a fair bit of abuse and it just keeps going.

Ya they are good out of the box, but id go with a Echo1 instead of JG. Same guns essentially, but Echo1 has higher quality parts. Sorry to say, but don't expect your JG to last to long.

JG is a solid brand, a few quick and easy upgrades will ensure your AEG doesn't break down. Just replace the plastic shims with metal ones, re-grease the gears and upgrade to a ported polycarb piston head, and you're good to go. Keep everything else stock, even the gears and esp. the spring. As long as you're running at 400fps or lower, that setup should last for years

Sorry, but I must disagree. The gears in that gun are like tinfoil. (Not literally)
I would be surprised if a JG lasted over a year. But mind you, my amount of playing may be WAY more than your play time.

Hmmm, what kind of breakages did you experience? From your post I guess it was gear related, did the teeth strip? It would depend on the JG model too I suppose. Generally as long as the gearset is 2007 onwards, and its shoots stock 400 or less, it should last.
I play about twice a month, much as I can. My backup piece is a JG Spetz, never let me down in 3 years. My flag icon is wrong, I'm from the Philippines, we're airsoft fanatics here

Personally, none. Never owned one. Shot some though. But people I know always had their guns busting in some manner. It usually was stripped teeth of some sort. Whether it be a piston or gear.
Ya, twice a month is not to much game play IMO. Being from the Philippines, I would expect you to be playing daily You guys are hardcore over there.

I blame WH40k, airsoft playtime has been in a downward spiral ever since I decided to try to learn to paint haha Sorry to hear about your buddies' guns, my personal experience has been good but YMMV I suppose.
@ OP: I had an idea, after you put together your IG gear, you could easily make an alternate LaTD loadout. So you could play as a guardsman one week and as a heretic the next. Mismatched pants and jacket, some velcro patches with heretic icons on them. Then get a mask the ones on the left:
Blood Pact look!
