I saw the episode where the IRA took on the Taliban. It was hilarious.

I have no idea if they intend to make the show as goofy as it is, and I kind of hope those guys really think they're doing decent analysis because that makes it all the funnier.

I saw some of Green Berets vs Spetznas last night and Viking vs Samurai few weeks ago. Couldn't watch it all as it was too cringe worthy. How those fellas can sit there with a straight face for an hour I don't know, I would love to see the out-takes. Acrobatic Russians vs Yanks taking themselves far too seriously, no wonder it was called the Cold War. What a waste!

What they should have done is got those four guy together spilt a few crates o' beer between them and let them have a game of one-up-man-ship on war stories ala Robert Shaw/Roy Schnieder/Richard Dreyfus in Jaws. They could have saved money on nerd and computers that way as well!

I couldn't even face the IRA vs Taliban or Mafia vs Yakuza that was on between! Talibs are warriors the rest are crimials, they should have chosen their subjects more carefully someone may have taken this show seriously.

I can't wait until the second season; this show is great entertainment although I agree it shouldn't be taken too seriously.

The over the top ending sequence and background/ demonstrations are fun stuff - takes nerdy arguments to a whole other level.

The Pirate vs Knight was the lowpoint. Gunpower FTW! There's a reason that plate mail isn't still in use.

Some of them have been pretty good, the Viking vs Samurai was at least somewhat even. The Taliban vs IRA - I thought was 1) poor taste and 2) a little ridiculous. Oh, wow, bayonet beats a sling-shot! Wow, I never would have guessed.

If you watch the commentary on the website they admit to choosing deliberately one sided fights because people want to see "apples vs oranges" fights. The show is neat for the reenactments and the professionals it brings on, but the bunk science is a serious turnoff for me.

Although interesting I was always annoyed that they didn't put up some reasonable match ups that we'd really like to see.
