I bought a "Learn to Paint Kit" from Reaper to get a starter set of paints and brushes. Now I have a couple of nicely painted minis. Can I use these in any games? Would they work for LOTR?

(These are not the actual minis, they are Reaper's images)

Well, I don't know. You could certainly use them for D&D, or any other fantasy role-play setting. LotR minis are on round bases, but this is a minor quibble. The real question is, who or what would you use these miniatures to represent? Neither looks particulary like someone from Middle-Earth, as far as I am concerned.

It also depends on who you are playing. I doubt too many people would get stroppy about you using 'incorrect' figs in a friendly game.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Savage Worlds has a free mini game that you can come up with stats for the figs you have and play in any setting. I haven't played it, but I have played the Savage Worlds RPG and from experience with that, I think the mini game should be cool. Check it out at www.peginc.com. Its called Savage Worlds Showdown.
