So my wife played her first game yesterday with her new Dark Elves against my Lizardmen. Our new chessex dice all rolled terribly in favor of the research article posted here(lots of 1's and 2's and not when it mattered). All in all she massacred me and is now talking smack and wants to know if I plan to "fix" my army list.

Keep in mind I coached her on choosing optimal targets for shooting and spells, and how to bait units for charges.
Her list was A sorceress Lv2 w/ lifetaker(2+ to hit repeater xbow), 10 RXB's, 5 dark riders w/ rxb's and 5 vannila CoK's.

Turn 1: I go first. Lots of nothing as my list is 12 skirmisher skinks, two razordons, scar vet and 14 spearmen. I move forward.
Her turn, she moves her CoK forwards 6" which is 2 shy of me charging them. She moves her dark riders 18" to my spearmens flank.
For magic she rolls Chillwind and Word of Pain. She casts Chillwind at the razordons and does 2 wounds on a beast and kills a handler.
She rolls a 9 to cast Word of Pain on my general/spearmen and my dispel rolls snake eyes. The RXB's shoot my incoming skinks and take out 2 of them.
Dark riders shoot spearmen, kill 3.

Turn 2: I move my spearmen back 2" to try and force a failed charge from the CoK. I move my razordons within shooting range of the CoK and my skinks within range of the RXB's. Out of my 18 shots(1 skink was out of range) I rolled 3 6's, 1 wounded, and was saved on a 6+. Razordons got off 8 shots at the CoK and ended up killing 1.
Her turn she charges, fails. Chillwind again on the razordons, brings it down to 2 beasts with 1 wound each, and 3 handlers left. Word of Pain again on a 9, rolled a 6 to dispel. RXB's kill 8 skinks, the last 2 panic. Lifetaker claims a razordon and 2 handlers. Dark Riders claim 1 spearman.

Turn 3: I charge her CoK's with spearmen in the front, razordon in the flank. 2 skinks rally. Combat ends with 1 CoK dead to 1 spearman dead. I win by like 3 or 4. The CoK break, flee 11", spearmen pursue 4", razordon holds pursuit.
Her turn she flank charges the spearmen with dark riders. Chillwind finishes off the razordon and handler, RXB's kill last 2 skinks.
Dark riders kill 1 spearman, spearmen kill 1 dark rider. Somehow this nonsense ended in a tie.

Turn 4: My General moves into contact with dark riders. Lost 1 spearman to a dark steed, general kills 2 riders. She passes break test.
Her turn the CoK's rally at 11" from combat, I concede.

As it turned out I forgot that my spearmen have 2 attacks each, so my first round with the CoK's may have gone better. Couldn't dispel worth a damn. Rematch in a week or 2. Here are some final pics from the game:

You sir, are quite possibly living the dream. A spouse who games. Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the battle report. I would have to agree that having a wife who likes to play is a good thing. I am waiting for my 4 and 2 year old boys to start playing, they both already like dragons and liked the old D&D cartoon. Hopefully it continues.

You know of course that it was a nuptial imperative that you indeed lose the first game with her. Your happiness and gaming freedom would have been forfeit for the rest of you life!

Nice little battle report though. Did you wife do her own painting as well?

What is a youth? Impetuous fire.
What is a maid? Ice and desire.

Her ADD prevents her from painting more than 2 strokes at a time, so I paint all the models for now.

Nice Bat Rep! I am sure my wife would be glad to hear there are other women who enjoy the game! She is trying to decide which army for sure she wants to try out. But she has gamed with me on several occassions, and supports the hobby!

Again, good game, keep em coming!
