I often find myself with a few extra points and I've assembled dozer blades for most of my tanks. Should I take the plunge and slap them on my Demolisher/Chimeras? Will they really save me that much grief in terms of terrain tests?

They are a bit too pricy. If you do find yourself with a few extra pts, it is a good place to spend them, but personally, I never end up with enough to give my guard tanks dozers. My marines OTOH, with their 5pts dozers, pretty much always gets them

I wouldn't put them on the demolisher as it shouldn't be moving around that much any way as for the chimera I like mine cheap and cheerful so I wouldn't put it on them ether. Hellhounds if you wanted to use them to run up the side through cover but that's only IMHO

I only add it to the banewolf. I use one instead of the standard 3-vendy setup since it's a superb terror weapon, and I want to keep it moving all the time. Hence, dozer blade. Nothing beats going 12" through terrain and hosing marines with toxic goo .

Depends on the vehicle, I would use them on Chimeras and the Bane Wolf.

Since I generally have 10+ tanks on the table, I never have enough points to justify it.

I also have never seen a table with enough terrain to justify it, and in general the 1/6 chance of immobilizing as I tank shock to an objective or something similar has never been significant enough to be a game-changer.

in a word, no. i usually don't have the points. but if i did, i'd spend them on other items.

There isn't enough terrain on the table to make it worth it. You could include an extra few gm for the points which is probably more cost effective.

No. Use the extra points for more firepower. The one in six chance of getting stuck really should not be a big deal.

That 1/6 chance isnt a big deal... unless it happens and it's something critical. Like zipping a melta or flamer team into position.

Really, I'd look hard at the role of the vehicle. Vanilla Russes, artillery, stuff that stays in the back and doesnt maneuver much... dont bother.

Chimeras, it really depends on what they're hauling. Battle Psykers... dont bother, it's not going to be maneuvering upfield that much. Melta/flamer teams... a dozer blade might not be a bad investment.

Dozer blades probably not necessary on Hellhounds most of the time.
