Wow- that's a LOT of rats! I don't see you having any units that can really hold, other than the rats pushing the screaming bell- but it will be a big, fat, juicy target at this point level!

What's the strategy with the list? I don't play skaven (planning on starting) but I think you need more units with the ability to stick around.

A smaller note on wargear- I'd like to see another dispel scroll at this point level, you could easily get it by exchanging the brass orb for the death globe. I personally think these will be similarly effective against many units.

So I'd like to see what your strategy would be, I'm seeing lots of throw-away and redirector units, but not much that's real solid for this high of a point level.

Well, the basic strategy is to neutralize shooting with the Storm Banner until the Gutter Runners cripple it. Meanwhile, the rest of the army will advance and engage. My plan was to use the Screaming Bell to tie up nasty units, and the Slaves/Giant Rats to tie up light ones. Also, the BSB Clanrat unit should be able to hold for a while, right?

Maybe you're right that I need more anvils though. What should I get? There's the Plague Monk/Furnace combo, but I feel like that's seen so often and is widely regarded as cheesy. Plus, I don't really care for the models.

The skaven win by SCR on large blocks overwhelming the other side, not by killing off their troops. That makes two thing pretty crucial.

1) Outnumbering. We need to outnumber the other side, not just within individual combats (for the Outnumber bonus to CR), but in numbers of units on the board. That makes it easier to set up the other half...

2) Flanking. This robs the other side of much of their own SCR, helping us beat them all the more thoroughly.

With two clanrat, 3 slave, and two large giant rat SCR blocks, you should be able to engage most armies large bocks one-for-one. Then your night runners, smaller ratpacks, rat ogres, and PCB can hammer them in the flanks (preferably on the same turn, no later than the next turn) to break them.

Then, of course, the HPA and Doomwheel can go smash stuff too hard for your large blocks to handle i.e. pretty much everyone else's special choices....

CHAOS! PANIC! DISORDER!
My job here is done.

I just got absolutely hammered by skaven today. They didn't even need their SCR... the maximum number of large units of plague censer bearers mowed through my army like a meat grinder.

I like your list better for the variety and things you're trying out. I'm not sure how effective it will be, though...
