If I play as space marines, and ally in units from the DH/WH, can I give them a Drop Pod or have them start inside a LRC, even though that unit is not present in/from their codex?

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

No they can't take a pod as they don't have the option in their entry. A WH/DH character + space marine unit could go in the units pod but otherwise no.

If it's a Heavy Support Land Raider/Crusader/Redeemer then they can start in it. If it's a terminator squads dedicated LR/LRC/LRR they can't start in it but could embark 1st turn.

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.

From what I read of the DH/WH codex, they can take LRs as a dedicated transport in their codex.

DH can also take a LR Crusader. But the assault cannons suck :(
