4 DCCWs, yes please.
A list with 2 big meks can have 2 as the mandatory troops choices.
Combined with 9 killa kans and lotsa boyz this list can kill many things

Well, if you can, I'd only take one skorcha per dread, but 4 CCW is preferable. Make the other 60 slugga boys into counts-as- shootas and you're rockin for some stomping.

I like this list, I run a similar list myself with excellent results. The only things I've had problems taking down are monstrous creatures. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also grotzookas are the best weapon for kanz period

DDs are good when they fill a close combat role in a meched army lacking it, especially if you are taking a kan wall, the DDs as troop choices, 2 Big meks with KFF and a trukkload (not needed in a trukk mind you) of shoota boys to slog it down the throat of an enemy.

The DD is a bully unit. It's not very good at taking on other walkers, MCs, or TH/SS Terminators, but its high number of attacks makes it great at plowing into units that have trouble against AV12 and tearing them apart.
If you're using Heavy slots, in general Kanz are going to perform more reliably. With a Big Mek, however, the DD becomes a troop choice and can be taken in addition to the Kan horde. In such a context, the DD works well.

Then you probably won't shouldn't expect to get much performance out of your DDs.
If you have a big horde of Orks and only 2-3 vehicles, then every anti-tank weapon in your opponent's army is going to be pointed at the 2-3 vehicles. They likely won't last longer than the first couple turns.

well mainly i'd say that kans are a lot better, except when you already have 9 kans and play a big mek, then field one (as troop choice)

A Deff Dred can be more survivable than a squadron of Kans. The problem with squadrons of Killer Kans is that they're AV11 squadrons. That means what would only glance a Deff Dred will penetrate a Kan, and what would inconvenience a Deff Dred, a glancing hit, is capable of killing a Kan (thanks to Immobilized results becoming Destroyed (Wrecked) results via the Squadron rules), not to mention that the Kans will be more vulnerable to high Strength blast weapons, and rapid fire S5+ weapons.
A Heavy Bolter, for example, can't harm a Deff Dred, but can destroy an entire squadron of Kans. But that's unlikely. A squadron of Killer Kans will be killed more easily by a Mortis Pattern Dreadnought, or a Predator, or a Leman Russ, or Land Speeders, or Pirahnas, and so on.
Not to say Killer Kans don't have their uses. They have BS3, more attacks, and so on, but they occupy a Heavy Support slot that can be given to a Battlewagon, whereas you can take Deff Dreds in Troop slots given the prerequisite Big Mek.

I'm still not entirely convinced of the wisdom of not mixing different play styles when it comes to orks.
The key to winning with orks is applying overwhelming force at a given point of contact. A single trukk load of boys in an otherwise footslogging list isn't going to do much. But 2-3 trukks full of boys backed up with bikes, etc, slamming into an opponent's flank while a strong firebase of multiple loota squads/looted wagons with boomguns/other template weapons deal with things that would threaten the assault element can be very effective.
Then again, I've always preferred to play an all-comers type of list over the spam-of-the-month lists.
Spam lists tend to do very well against certain types of armies and fail spactacularly against others, and in my experience people tend to quickly develop specific counters to spam lists.
edit: not to mention the fact that with 5000+ points of greenskins, I tend to constantly change up my lists in order to get a chance to play with all the models i've spent way too much time painting, etc.

Battle wagons can be Dedicated transports for Nobs so i don't see the problem here.
Take 9 kans, 2 meks, 2 Dreds, a nob squad with a battle wagon, and a couple o squads of boyz and you're ready to stomp some 'umies
