I run a mixed bag of footsloggers; mostly shoota/slugga boyz with a sizeable complement of static firing (Lootas, Big Mek with SAG, Big Gunz, ect.) and I was taking a glance through the Tyranid tactics for the new codex. Haven't gone up against them yet with a footslogging ork list, but I was wondering how sloggin' orks fair against a horde army of Tyranids.

They will do some what well. The orks will be striking last but their T4 will make them last in combat making as much wounds when they strike back. Lootas and shootas will be devastating against nids, lootas are get 30 or so shots that are AP4 which will cut down most nids. Just don't let monstrous creatures assault your boyz squads though.

Apparently I heard nids lack any form of assault grenade (except for the venomthrope? cant remember, sorry), so if possible, staying in area cover and pouring walls of dakka fire into them as they come to you may help. Orks might actually go first in the assault for once lol

Carnifex does, as well as the Lictor.
Against Orcs, I would just unleash Trygon prime death combo'd with 30+ supagaunts (FnP anyone?).

What point total are you playing? at 1500, I can easily fit 3 trygons and another 2 Tervigons with room to spare for genestealers/zoanthropes/hive guard as i see fit. Lootas can force saves on the trygons, But you'll typically only get one turn to do it when we deep strike into your backfield with them. Gaunts w/ FnP and Counter-Attack are typically a force to be reckoned with too. If you keep your orks in a cohesive force, sweeping from one flank to the other, You can usually overwhelm 'nids with your numbers. For a horde army, competitive nid lists are NOT horde-y. Nobz with pk's are the bane of all our MC's, especially if the boyz wear them down by forcing some 3+ saves before the nob gets his turn to whack.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

I've not had much trouble with new Nids with my Ork horde. A boyz mob with a PK nob is just as effective now as it was then against MCs. I laugh as the swarmlord kills 6 point Ork boy models and I swamp his unit with multiple mobs and drag him down or my favorite is to multiassault the swarmlord and a unit of warriors and stick the PK nob to killing warriors, where each warrior wounded by a PK is 3 wounds in my favor for the combat. Trygons/Primes haven't been an issue, what with costing as much an an Ork mob and not being able to take one on in CC. Mawlocs can mess up lootas, but I haven't encountered them so far. My lootas are generally free to rain shots on Tyranid MCs, which they do well.

I was kinda worried about new nids but really they're not that bad to fight with Orks.

genestealers would rip CC orks to pieces and tyrgons, carnifexes would be tough to beat at range or CC unless you had several power klaws

Genestealers are defenatly a major pain, especially mixed with a broodlord.
