I don't see it being very useful, the range is just too short. Fexes are already overcosted, adding yet more bloat that will probably not get used doesn't seem like a good investment to me.

It's a really, really short-ranged plasma cannon. No. Overpriced upgrade for a overpriced unit. Waste of points.

I'm considering this upgrade on a fex in a pod, he's going to be 12' from what I want to target if i drop him. No one wants a fex hitting their lines, if i have a chance to get to the squishy center of a transport, i'll consider taking it

Seems useful for a Podding fex, so it can do some damage on its first turn when it's likely to be close to juicy targets.

i take my fex with Regeneration, Bio-plasma, Frag spines, and Adrenal Glands (regen is 25 bio plasma is 20, Frag is 5, and Adrenal is 10) So one fex is running 205 points, and he is the most underestimated thing my opponents ever face...ever.

First he is now I4 running into anything, cover or no, he goes at I4 i know thats not "huge" for alot of armies, but he has 5 attacks, two sets of sycthing talons, so most the time he hits on 4's he gets to reroll everything he failed to hit with now. Sooo chances of getting all the hits are good, he also is Str10 when you charge thanks to adrenal Glands, and thats just nasty. Now....add bio-plasma to this, and this happened last time i ran him....

5 Terminators w/assualt cannon +all powerfists shooting me up and advancing...along comes mr.fex......he shoots and scores a hit on 3 of them, all 3 wound, and 2 die....Pesky Ap2 shots! he then charges, and scores 4 wounds our of a possible 5! They all died.

Sure he costs 205 points. But So does anything worthwhile. He is horribly underrated imo he is great at popping tanks, if you need to assualt youre Ravenrs in cover his frag spines negate their bonus, and he still is str 10. Add in that most people ignore him to go after Mr. Trygon who has a 80% harder time getting a cover save and he generally makes it where he needs to go, or heck give him a spore pod and he definitly gets where you want him! and if all fails he is at least going to take some shots off the Tyrant and Trygon and Tervigon and thats worth the scare anyhow. and With Regen he is even harder to put down....

Im just debating taking Old One Eye...the chance for 16 Str 10 Hits in close combat is VERRRYYY tempting indeed.

The base cost for a 'fex is 160, with the things you listed, he is 220 not 205

I personally like running 'fexs with bio-plasma, I just normally never get the chance to test it very much

Regen is a waste on anything with 4 wounds. Armies that typically have the firepower to put down a MC can do so in one turn. Mr. fex rarely has a chance to regen any wounds at all, and during the occasions he does the next turn's firepower will still put him down. Spend that 25 points somewhere else, like part of a zoanthrope or hive guard to crack open the transports for mr. fex to eat the goodies inside.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.
