My friends and I are having a debate as to how tau gun drones behave in several instances.... I'll try to name some of the circumstances but feel free to chip in with any extra relevent info you want.

- if the devilfish brows up, do the drones now disconnect? Do they take hits as if they were passengers?
- Does a weapon destroyed result destroy one? Both?
- When they disconnect they form their own unit as per the gun drone squad rules correct?

Sorry its earily, those are the only situations that come off the top of my head. My friend just seems to be really abusing them everytime I watch a game. I have the tau codex but I have a hard time making heads or tails of everything.

Yes.

None, because "they are treated as Passengers if the vehicle is damaged", so unless you allow Weapon Destroyed Results to pick off embarked models inside, say, Land Raiders, Weapon Destroyed cannot touch Gun Drones.

Correct.

I think it's fair to say that the Design Studio made a massive effort to understand the Tau codex, and failed.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

A gentleman and a scholar as always Gwar.

Thanks again, and keep fightin' the good fight.

Oh! Quick clarification, Since devilfish have no gun that would mean that devilfish are very likely to be destroyed by glancing hits correct? As I assume a single weapon destroyed would immobilize them?

Incorrect, a devilfish comes standard with a burst cannon, and disruption pods if your smart.

and the drones may be upgraded to smart missiles for a second weapon system if you feel so inclined.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).
