Hey fellow Dakka-ites in and around Virginia.

Since Madicon is coming up soon, I figured I'd plug it here. Madicon is an annual convention at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia (about 2 hours from Northern Virginia/an hour and a half from Charlottesville). This year, runs from March 12th-14th. It's a pretty small convention, but I went last year and had tons of fun. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this year, but I just wanted to spread the word. I know a few people putting it on, and they're all really cool.

Most of the gaming is focused on roleplaying and LARP, but there'll also be a mini painting workshop (free with con entrance if you bring your own primed mini) and a 1500 point bracket-style 40k tournament (free with entrance into the con). In addition, this year will be a few panels, author interviews, video game tournaments (both console and PC-systems provided), anime viewings, food, and lots of vendors, as well as an appearance by the 501st Stormtrooper Legion: Garrison Tyranus.
