The idea behind such a low point level is to play aginst people using a battle box to get them into the game and many of the people starting up at HT will be running small forces to test out the waters to make sure they are even really interested in it. However, I will probly play my battle box contents against first timers to avoid the frustration of facing a custom built force vs the prebuilt from PP.

The list is as follows:
Kreoss
Fire of Salvation
Crusader
Choir of Menoth 3 grunts and leader
Eiryss
15 Points

With the imprint and affinity the Fire of Salv will be a (un)Holy machine of carnage that comboed with the crusader and the choir singing their praises this should be able to steam roll almost anything at this point value. The major short fall I see is that I don't have much to screen for my Warcaster but hopefuly the two heavies running full bore at my opponent will keep him safe but I don't know he is pretty squishy. I wants Wracks in this list but am hesitant to try and work them in. Eiryss is here for additional control and anti Eiryss support at higher point values (yes I am using Eiryss to counter Eiryss ).

Its not a bad list. I'm a huge fan of Kreoss myself, but I tend to very much not like Warmachine / hordes at 15 points unless its mangled metal / tooth & claw. Even then, 15 points can be pretty tough for hordes as they attrition pretty badly.

If battle boxes are going to be the base to build from, I'd actually recommend sticking more to the contents of that box, and just adding a little to it.

The box works out to be 9 points, so that gives 6 points to build onto if you're going for 15 points or 16 points to go to 25 points. At 15 points (starter + a little), I'd probably add min Temple Flameguard & min choir. The Flameguard are great with Defenders Ward, the choir buffs your jacks, and its a minimal investment over the box set.

At 25 points, I'd vary away from the box set just a little by swapping the Revenger for a Redeemer as Kreoss doesn't really care about having an Arc Node. Then I'd fill out both the TFG unit (including UA) and the Choir, and add in a Vassal. This would be a good place to add the Fire of Salvation, in place of the Crusader would be fine (gives a battle box feel with added cool factor). Lastly, I'd probably fill out the rest of the list with a set of Wracks -- very Protectorate.

Hordes will always have an issue with attrition, if your opponent blows up your warbeasts that you had loaded up with fury you run dry your next turn.

TFG and Wracks I currently have on order and will be excited working them into my list once they arrive. I insist on using the Fire of salvation because I converted a T-head into one for mine and I am not willing to let a model I put that much work into sit idle even if at this point level it is a huge point sink.

Ya 15 points is awkward to play and write but I don't want our new players to feel like they have to make a largish investment to just try the game out and get their feet wet. Warmachine is such a great game I don't want to give them any reason not to at least try it. Not everyone will like it, positioning and resource management is arguably the most important part of this game and some people do not like that fact it feels like chess with more rules.

I think the standard will be 35 points for quite some time first to let people grow and get into the game and second so they have enough points to actually take the units they want in their list.
