Is it possible that games workshop will release a tervigon mini for Tyranids? And if not any neat conversions that anybody has seen around?

I am putting 4 sything talons on for legs on a carnifex body, and then the two crab arms under his head

looks tyranidy but obviously not a carnifex.

I'm assuming what you're asking is if the studio is planning on releasing a Tervigon?

Or are you just asking if anyone knows of a possible model to use for one? The poll suggests that you're suggesting a mini to use instead, but the question seems to be asking for an opinion on something...

In short, actually elaborating on just what it is you want to know would be useful...

I sure hope they release a model for it this year, I don't want to play with my carni-tervigon for the whole while I play my tyranids.

I bet they eventually will after all it such a good unit.

I thought you found a non-GW miniature/toy that would work as an excellent Tervigon. I got excited...

I made 2 but I'm keeping one. I also have a Harpy conversion up on ebay I made from a 3rd ed Hive Tyrant. I definatly think they will make a tervigon/tryannofex kit, but I wouldn't look for it for at least a year or so.

What do you base that on? All the march releases are much more than 3 months after their codex. Judging by all the new codices they'll put out rules for lots of extra units but only make half at release and the rest for sometime in the future. It just might take a year or two.

Nice looking conversions! Wish the guys at my FLGS were any good at that. The most we've seen is one guy tilting over a Carnifex, gluing some Gaunts to the base and on top of its back, and calling it a Tervigon. It looks pretty decent, don't get me wrong, but it's still not much compared to the others I've seen online.

It was a guesstimate , based on the unit been quite popular on army lists , i say 3 months would be enough for people to convert their own to field them in their game.
Enough for GW to rake in the $ from the conversions.

3 months i give the excitement will either die down , or the conversions are already made ,
too much longer people might lose interest and decide to stick with their conversions.

They will release a model after it looses its effectiveness thru new rules.

Tis the GW way.

From what we have model wise I guess you wouldn't need much converting to make a malanthrope from forgeworld into an awesome tervigon. Ill stick with the cheaper option of a converted carnifex myself.

Games Workshop is a game-design company, not a miniature figure one. They never release models for the units they design. It is not like they are looking to make money off the kits or anything...

You guys have most likely seen this conversion but I think this would make a great tervigon. But as i do not have the skills to make such a beast it would be better if GW made a kit.

Why not do some conversions on the Pyrovore?

It's not like you'll be using the model for anything else....

If they do a kit, I suspect it will be a Tervigon/Tyrannofex kit for 50 USD.

I had heard that GW was going to do some hobby articles featuring Tervigon conversions by their modeler guys. Supposedly these would be featured in their magazines and in the article sections on their website. This info comes second-hand from some guys who talked to some GW store employees. It kind of makes sense that they would want you to buy several kits to put together a custom model... because then you buy several kits.

It seems like if you picked one of the larger tyranids and used all of the scrap bits that you have leftover after putting together the rest of your army, then you could make something worthwhile.
