All possesed squad members are given a cc weapon as their standard equipment.

On the daemon kin table, they can be armed with power weapons.

Does this new power weapon count as a second weapon, or does it just "power" their current weapon?
If it does count as a 2nd weapon, then they gain an extra attack (ccw+power weapon= extra attack)

I say yes, partially because that's my initial reading of the rules ("extra equipment" etc etc), and also the fact that the fluff states "their weapons" glow with daemonic power.

Partially cause they're not that good. No reason to beat them down any further.

I say yes and came to this conclusion reading the codex on my own. I've yet to hear a good counter argument.

But as a counter argument (the one my freind keeps bringing up) "their weapons" could have been meant to mean "the accumulation of 1 weapon between multiple members" (that may have been the most akwardly spelled sentence I've ever typed )

You'd think GW would make somethin like this more clear.
Then again, if we wern't arguing about rules, it wouldn't be warhammer.

The way I, and my gaming group, interpreted it is that their single close combat weapon becomes a single power weapon.

Also, it wouldn't make the unit that much better, as it's a buff only 1/6th of the time.

(And yeah, we assumed that by weapons (plural) the codex means 'the weapon of each possessed' when it says 'the squad's weapons')

I think that you're wrong, but I have nothing that can prove that I'm right.

It can be interpereted both ways, and I can totally see why you would interperet it that way.

I should probably consult with my FLGS to get a verdict. I could be swayed either way.

Are we forgetting that the possessed get the following extra equipment? Forget the pluralized weapons, extra is pretty clear-cut.

They get an EXTRA power weapon, as the rules for them state any equipment they recieve is EXTRA.

/facepalm to those that say no.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

5 People voted no and I see only 1 who explained his rationale...I'd really like to hear from the other 4 and why they think no...

The rationale being that they cant read the rules stating they get "extra equipment", and "6" being the only equipment listed?
