My IG army List

Hey all, I am brand new to IG, I have been playing a few small 750 point games, but I want to get it up to 1650 pts.
I am still a SM player as well.
My goal is Destroy a friend of mine who plays eldar a lot, and I am tired of his cheese army.

I want to Grind him underneath my boots with IG

Your CCS is just going to die. They have to be static to fire the heavy bolter and so the officer of the fleet can use the ordnance. With every other unit in a transport these will get left behind and serve no purpose.

Vets exist to take multiple special weapons, one heavy weapon isn't suited and nor can you move and fire it. Heavy bolters don't really threaten eldar, flamers and heavy flamers do. So make all your chimeras heavy flamers hulls and give the vets squads some flamers and meltas; meltas will only work on the rear of wave serpent, if your mate takes them btw.

Medusa with bastion breacher shells are only good if the eldar player doesn't take serpents, and as these are the primary transport for eldar I cannot see why they wouldn't be taken, unless running a foot list. Wave serpents would just make that weapon down to S8 and if eldar are on foot a small blast template isn't useful.

I hope those tanks aren't in one squad? Battle tank is ok, punisher costs too much and has no ap even eldar will get a save. Executioner is ok but better against marines, a demolisher would have the same affect and be s10 as well.

I second dropping the Medusas; take colossus' instead(large blast ignores cover and eldar saves, kills dem weedy gits outright)

Drop the punisher(it doesn't fit the squadron) that gives you 230 points

Take 2 sets melta vets(3x meltas each, no Heavy Bolter), and one Plasma Vet(3x plasma no heavy bolter); give them all the grenadiers doctrine; leaves you with 65 points

Drop Master of Ordnance and the auto cannon (add 45 points) give the CCS a Chimera (-55) give them 4 Plasmas and Carapace (-50) you have 5 points left. Might as well give the CCS Krak grenades
