Hi, I'm starting Eldar and I think I've written a list to guide myself in the right direction, but I'd still like feedback. This is at 1000 points. Thanks

HQ

Farseer
-Runes of Warding
-Spirit Stones
-Doom
-Fortune
-Jet Bike
175 Points

Warlock
-Jetbike
-Embolden
50 Points

Warlock
-Jetbike
-Enhance
60 Points

2x Warlock
-Jetbikes
-Destructor
110 Points

Troops

5x Rangers
-Pathfinders
120 Points

10x Dire Avengers
-Exarch
-Blade Storm
147 Points

Wave Serpent (For the Avengers)
-Twin-linked Scatter Lasers
115 Points

Elites

5x Fire Dragons
-Exarch
-Crack Shot
97 Points

Wave Serpent (For the Fire Dragons)
-Twin-linked Bright Lances
135 Points

TOTAL: 1009 points (House rules say you have a 10-point stretch window )

The Farseer unit is there to received Fortune and cast Doom on opponents, then zoom up and blast with Destructors and twin-linked shuriken catapults, then Assault or back off using the Jetbike special rule. With Fortune, Doom, +1 Toughness and 3+ armor saves, this unit is *hard* to kill. The Pathfinders are expert objective holders, and specialize in grabbing covered objectives while pinning enemies. The Dire Avengers go after forward objectives, and are specially geared to handle opposing troop choices. There's nothing cooler than zooming up to an opponent, unleash a massive Blade Storm, then top it off with a Scatter Laser volley. Then, if necessary, they can climb back into their vehicle for protection. The Wave Serpent with the Fire Dragons destroys opposing vehicles and armored units, to help protect my own units and counter opposing mech strategies.

Things I wish I could improve/uncertainties: Initially I had vectored engines on the Serpents, but had to cut them to make the point total. I'm wondering if I need both Embolden AND Enhance in my Seer Council. Maybe cut one and get another Destructor? I would also like the Fire Dragon and Pathfinder units to be larger.

Also, does anyone have a guide or information on how to convert a Jetbike Seer Council? I think it's awesome and I'd like to own one. And if there's a way to incorporate Banshees or Striking Scorpions into the list, I'd love them. They're my favorite units!

Thanks for reading!

I think the list you have posted works well.
About the seers, you’ll certainlt want Embolden on one of your warlocks; it’s great to be able to reroll your psychic tests but most of all you don’t want to lose that expensive unit when it loses a model.
Switching your enchance to destructor will work out fine versus some opponents but you will miss having it versus others. Just compare the WS and Initiative of the units you will likely face with the council.

A couple of ways to make a council on bikes:
-Use a GJB unit, replace their torso’s with those from regular Warlocks/Dire Avengers/whfb Elves.
-Use/make anti-grav plaforms, like the heavy weapon platform from guardians, and mount a regular worlock on it. This is probably the least conversion hassle but you’ll end up with psykers on flying skateboards.

IMO you should not look to add more Pathfinders. 5 is great as a scoring unit but don’t expect them to kill a lot of stuff in an avarage game with them.
Same for the Fire Dragons. They are you insurance vs Land Raiders but apart from that you don’t really need them. You have Witchblades, Scatter lasers and a Bright lance.

Good luck with them :-)

your math is wrong; you have 1025 points

I decided to add it up when I saw you claim 1009 and the only non-5 multiples were an 8 and a 2.

it looks like you decided to add singing spear, firepike and paired shuri-cats after you did your math; units with wargear as listed is 1009

Cool I'm glad I at least got it somewhat right on my first try.

That makes sense about the Warlock powers, so cool.

And Kommissar Kel, that's exactly what I did! I originally had all that in my list and forgot to take it out of the unit total costs. Nice

What exactly is a GJB? I figure JB = Jet Bike...but whats the G?

I was pondering making a Jet Bike Seer Council, but was also unsure of how to do it.

I hear that chapterhouse studios is putting out jetseer council conversion kits soon - might be worth checking them out.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.
