Not sure if this has come up before or not, so point me in the right direction if it has.

I heard along my game group grapevine. That since the hive tyrant is an independent character, he can join a lictor "unit", which in turn means that the lictor can start on the table top turn one, which also means you can start your unit anywhere on the table top, turn one??? I do not own a Tyranid codex, so i have no way of cross checking rules, any help would be most appreciated.

My first inclination is that this is total BS. But i have been wrong about such things before.....

The Hive Tyrant is not an IC. Try reading the codex

Not our problem. This is not a place to ask for rules wholesale. If you want to know the rules, buy the codex.

To discuss rules interpretations.

Giving out rules wholesale is against copyright law and will bring about a GW C&D faster than flies on pig .

Thats just stupid, not everyone can own every codex or every rule book, how am I supposed to check against something that i don't even own, I am not asking for an outright rules.. "please copy and paste the codex to this forum", Basically is this just a bunch of hot air? or is there actual fire where this smoke is coming from?

Can an IC from any army, join and infiltrator and thus start the game where ever they want?

This is covered clearly in the USR section of the rulebook, specifically the part about USR's marked with an asterisk and what that asterisk means.

You do have a rulebook, right?

Well, you know the Hive Tyrant is not an IC (you're welcome), you know how it works with ICs, so what is your question?

Can the lictor, with some IC joining it, start the game on turn one, anywhere on the battle field, with said IC??

Automatically Appended Next Post:
or does the lictor have to start where the IC starts the game, following the IC normal deployment rules??

No.

I'd suggest you borrow a copy of the Nid codex and read the remainder before further Qs, as that should address most of them. Closing this down now.

Note to others who posted here. It would be helpful if less aggressive posts were made in reply, as it reflects poorly on Dakka.
