So I have a campaign I'm playing in and we are coming up on the final battle, a massive apocalypse game in which each player bring 500 points of whatever they want, no limitations from force org or type. I'm planning on bring 4 valkryies, 3 with rocket pods. I am curious as to how this will do against the heavy angry nids. Some may be hordes while others will be nidzillas rampaging through the board. How well do you think these valks will do, or should I drop some of them.

Valkyries with rocket pods and HB sponsons will decimate those powerful cc nid units such as Genestealers, hormagaunts and disrupt thier shooting attacks, they will waste all their decent guns on the valks, buying your russes time to wipe out anything large or meancing ie Fexes and zoanthroapes

Massive? 500 pts? 5000 pts perhaps? Back on topic, 2 Valk and a Vendy s did great for me my last game against Nids, but we were only playing 1500 pts.

Yeah, if you're bringing 500 points per player it's very unlikely that you'll see any monstrous Tyranids due to sheer point costs.

were are talking maybe 15 players on my side, and a match up of point values on the other side from about 5 players. Each individual non nid player brings 500 pts, add that up and you're approaching 7500 pts on each side. Now back to original question I know tyhere will be some big angry creatures. Should I change my idea, or let someone else deal with them.

If there's no limits on the FOC I would be worried about a ton of zoanthropes podding in front of your tanks.

The nid player could field 12 zoanthropes in pods for under 1k points. Not to mention all the hive guard they could be fielding. Ouch!
