Hey everyone!

Looking for some insight/clarification on the rules concerning Thunderhammers and their use...

but first a little background...

... I am relatively new to 40k, so my understanding of the game mechanics/rules may be lacking so feel free to flame away!

... the rule for thunderhammers is as follows
"A Thunderhammer uses the same rules as a power fist. In addition, all models that suffer an unsaved wound from a thunderhammer and are not killed will be knocked reeling, reducing their initiative to a value of 1 until the end of the next player's turn. Against vehicles damage also causes "crew shaken" result"

So, a single Thunderhammer is...
... a power weapon: no armor saves for models wounded by a power weapon
... a power fist: double wielder's strength (up to a max of ten), but strike at Initiative 1
... a thunderhammer: see above rule

so now for the question at hand... WHAT IS THE VIABILITY OF SWINGING TWO THUNDERHAMMERS?

the way I see it is this...
... a wolf lord has a base Strength of 4 and 4 attacks in cc. the first hammer would double the WL's strength to 8 and the second would max out the strength to 10. furthermore, the second hammer wound add another attack and all attacks (5?) would be unsavable (armor)...

Now, I could be really off base here, but I was thinking of throwing a couple WG w/combi-melta and chainfists to make a fun little tank hunting unit (all in terminator armor of course!)... what do you think?

Thanks!

The only benefit of two hammers is the Wolf Lord has +1 attack. You don't double strength, and then double it again.

In the dark future, there are skulls for everyone. But only the bad guys get spikes. And rivets for all, apparently welding was lost in the Dark Age of Technology. -from C.Borer

Correct. The ONLY advantage to having 2 compared to 1 is a bonus attack.

As above - if you read the rules for special CCW all attacks are made with *1* weapon and *1* weapon only.

If you want S10 stick him on a TWM, Storm Shield in one hand and Eternal warrior in the other. Nasty, nasty character.
